Blue Flint says he is a hound mix, with a vet estimated year of birth of 2020.  He is full of life and love. He is a super busy guy who will need lots of exercise and structure. Chevy is eager to please and has a very gentle mouth when taking treats and playing fetch. He is super smart and learns very fast. He really needs a home with a fenced in yard so he has plenty of room to run, play and burn off some energy and a family committed to working with him on training to provide the mental exercise he needs. He will also need to be an only pet. Chevy will be about 60lbs full grown. ~Adoption donation $300 All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Meet Bubba! He was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. Bubba is a sweet old soul. He would do best in a home with no cats. He is really good at relaxing and clingy to those he loves. He seems to love car rides and is calm. He loves to smile and is very appreciative when people spoil him.Bubba is deaf. Caring for a hard-of-hearing or deaf dog centers on replacing sound with visual and physical cues to keep them safe and connected. Because they cannot hear hazards like traffic or approaching animals, keeping them on a leash or in a securely fenced yard is essential. You should also update their collar tags to alert others of their condition in case they wander off.Communication shifts entirely to sight and touch. You can teach basic commands using consistent hand signals or American Sign Language. It`s important to prevent them from startling, especially when sleeping. Bubba enjoyed watching the neighborhood activity while we hung around my backyard. He didn’t bark at the neighbors; he seemed friendly towards all the people we met. When we walked on Bolin Creek in Chapel Hill he gets right into the creek any chance he gets. He loves the water. He needed assistance, like a little boost, to get into the back seat of my car; hopping up with the hind limbs was limited, as he’s a large dog. He is deaf, so getting his attention is sometimes a challenge. Overall, Bubba was so sweet and so special to connect with. I can`t wait to spend more time with Bubba; he is a joy. Go check him out!`
