Story
We rescued Brandy from a local breeder/trainer who specializes in bird dog breeds. The breeder considered her deformed because she has "sickle tail." The English Pointer breed apparently HAS to have a tail that's 90 degrees off the spine when hunting in the direction of a bird (upright when on "point.") We didn't see it as a deformity and immediately fell in love with her energy, personality, and playfulness. She has two national field champions in her bloodline. One on her mother's side and one on her father's side. My wife and I had just purchased our home, and our kids were very young. We wanted to give them the family dog to grow with. However, we never considered how powerful she was. The kids never were able to play with her like we imagined because she's so energetic and muscular. Over the years, she's calmed down quite a bit but now both our kids are teenagers and they both play travel sports. Which doesn't give us the time she deserves. :(
