Story
Meet Lucy (Luisa) – The Sweetheart Who Just Needs a Little Time Lucy is a quiet, tender-hearted girl with a soft spirit and soulful eyes. Life hasn’t always been kind to her, and she's still learning that the world can be a safe, loving place. Right now, she’s shy and uncertain — especially in new settings or when her routine shifts — but that doesn’t mean she isn’t trying. She is. Loud noises like storms overwhelm her, and she thrives in a calm, predictable home. Her kennel is her safe zone — a place she retreats to when she needs to feel secure. Lucy is working hard to build trust with people, particularly men, and needs someone patient and understanding to help her feel safe. Underneath her cautious exterior is a dog who wants connection more than anything. Where Lucy truly comes alive is with other dogs. She lights up around canine friends, plays with joy, and gains confidence from their companionship. She’d do best in a home with a friendly, balanced dog who can show her the ropes and remind her that the world isn’t so scary. Lucy doesn’t need grand gestures — just steady kindness, a peaceful home, and a little time. If you're the kind of person who believes in second chances and understands that healing takes patience, Lucy will be worth every minute.

Story
Copper was found roaming the streets of OKC malnourished and scarred. He’s turned into the most amazing little boy who loves his foster siblings and everyone he meets. Patience isn’t his virtue but he is very tolerant of the children (and puppies) he meets. During the day he’s all play but at nighttime he wants to cuddle up under a blanket and enjoy his little luxurious life. He loves his siblings, food and anything that involves jumping all over the backyard. Copper would be a wonderful addition to any family or a companion for someone wanting an adventure buddy.

Story
Hi!  I'm Tuck Tuck. My foster hoomans call me Tough Tough. I was on the euthanasia list after being found with a nasty injury So I had to get one of my legs removed. I kind of hop now more than run because of that. I don't really care about long walks. I do care about care about toys of all kinds - squeaky ones, crinkly ones, stuffed ones... You name it. I like dogs of all sizes but sitting next to my hooman chewing on a bone is one of my favorite things in the whole world. I did have heartworm but not anymore. So please keep up with my preventative because I DO NOT want to go through that again! They say I'm 6 years old but spunky like a 2-year-old and am about the size of a beagle, (whatever that means). I pretty much always have a smile on my face. I stay in my crate nicely and and potty trained. I would love to spend the rest of my days with a forever hooman.  It doesn't matter if it is in a house or an apartment; I will not stray far from my hoomans anyway.  Reach out to 405 Animal Rescue so we can arrange a playdate. ##2376927##

Story
This sweet boy is Bruno! He is an approximately 3.5-year old Pointer/Cattle Dog mix who weighs around 50 lbs. Bruno was adopted as a puppy but returned at 10 months old. The family felt he was too much energy for an apartment and that he needed a home with more time for him and a yard. Bruno is an fun loving goofy dog with plenty of playful energy. He absolutely loves to play and go for walks. He will need a yard and an active family who can spend time with him and give him daily exercise. He also really needs a family who will give him mental stimulation as well such a food puzzles, snuffle matts, and teaching him new tricks. He is a really smart dog and his main issue in his old home is just lack of time spent with him. He spent too much time in a crate and not enough time getting to run and use his brain. If you are looking for a fun dog to spend your time with, Bruno is your dog. If you are looking for a walking or running companion, Bruno is your dog. If your energetic dog needs an energetic friend, Bruno is your dog. Bruno is crate, leash, and house trained. He is good with most other dogs and has played in small groups at a daycare, but can be selective. Due to his energy, I wouldn't put him with young children but children 8 and up would be great for him. He has lived with children in the past and was fine. Bruno needs a stockade fenced backyard and to meet all dogs in the household before adoption. Bruno is neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $225. If you would like to adopt Bruno and make him a part of your family, please apply at FYDRadopt.com. Bruno is in a boarding situation at this time so he qualifies as a foster-to-adopt or as just a foster. If you are interested in fostering Bruno, please complete our foster application at www.foreveryoursokc.org/foster-application.
