Story
Profile Hi, I’m Teddy! I’m named after Theodore Roosevelt because I’m resilient, determined, and maybe a little dramatic in the best way. My life hasn’t been easy—I was shot in the shoulder and placed on the euthanasia list. Thanks to Lifeline of Galveston County and my amazing foster family, I got a second chance, and I’m thriving on three legs! I’m a big fan of walks (though I tire easily), car rides, Christmas lights (I even got a stocking!), toys, treats, and vegetables—yes, veggies! Life is a game to me, and I love playing with my dog foster sister Emma or anyone who’s up for it. I’m a little kleptomaniac, so check my clubhouse (blanket covered crate) if something goes missing. I know sit, stay, shake, sit up, go to bed—and my specialty: French boops! My boops are enthusiastic, my aim is questionable, and sometimes you’ll get a nose or tongue to the eye. That’s love in my book. I also show love with gentle jawing and cobbing—little nibbles to say “you’re my person.” I’m affectionate, cuddly, and love sitting in laps. I sleep on the bed if allowed, but my burrow bed is my favorite. I need elevated food and water bowls and help with stairs or the bed sometimes, but I make it worth your while with my charm. I’m brave too—I recently attended a party with 30+ people and kids and did wonderfully… though I may have stolen a child’s cheesecake ?. I love my people fiercely and will greet them excitedly whether they’ve been gone five minutes or more. I’m looking for my forever family—the ones who will be patient with me, laugh at my quirks, help me onto the bed, and love me exactly as I am. I promise to love you with my whole heart. Story
Meet Nyx! She’s a sweet, affectionate 2½ year-old girl who loves being around people. We’re currently fostering her for a friend. She LOVES to cuddle and will happily curl up next to you (or on top of you) whenever she gets the chance. She also loves giving hugs! When she’s not being a cuddle-bug, she’s running around the yard with her other doggy companions to her heart’s content. She’ll happily follow you around the house just to be included in whatever you’re doing, even if the task doesn’t require a dog. IMPORTANT NOTE: Nyx requires a cat-free home. She has a strong prey drive toward cats and has attempted to attack the ones in her current home, so she cannot safely live with them or other small animals. I love Nyx very much, but unfortunately, I cannot keep her in my home. I want to make sure she goes to a loving home that’s a better fit for her. She deserves a place where she can thrive alongside a family who loves her as much as I do.
