Story
Introducing Gatsby! We don’t know how long sweet has been living on the streets, but we are so g lad he is finally safe with us. Gatsby is such a calm, gentle soul who we know will come out of his shell soon. We got him all caught up on his vaccines, medicated shampoo for his skin, and started on heartworm prevention. He’s currently with our amazing boarding partners, but we would love for this sweet boy to be in a foster or forever home. He’s incredibly trusting despite never knowing the love of humans. The vets estimated Gatsby to be around 5-6 years old. Scouts Honor provides all resources needed to foster — supplies, food, medication, vet visits etc. please consider opening your home for the holidays for Gatsby! We know he would be so appreciative. Visit www.scoutshonor.org for more information about Gatsby! November 29, 2025, 11:55 pm

Story
Bat is an incredibly sweet, cuddly, playful girl who loves other dogs, people, and kids and is OK(slightly scared of) with cats. she is house trained and crate trained and knows basic commands like sit stay and drop it. Also sits when you snap and comes when you whistle. she loves to be outside and bask in the sun and play in her doggy pool. She responds to Bat-girl or Batty. She loves sleeping in my bed with me as well as hanging out in her crate when I am unable to supervise her. she will be a great loving addition to whatever family picks her! She also at one point in time did have to have a sock removed from her intestines, but she has gotten a lot better about not eating pieces of toys/socks

Story
This young puppy is playful and energetic. We are calling him Buddy. He seems to be a mix of Labrador and Pointer. Buddy has a great personality. We found him at a Walmart, possibly was abandoned. He is very friendly, loves attention, and is house trained. He is the sweetest, he would be great with an owner who likes to go on walks, hiking, will train him with many tricks. He is loyal and protective in the backyard. Buddy listens for sounds, will check the parameters of the backyard. He possibly was kennel trained, he respects barriers/gates. Can you provide him a great home? He is friendly with other pets and children.

Story
Meet Neo! Neo is a nearly 2-year old pit-hound mix who loves love and food! Neo is a sweet boy that is looking for his fur-ever home. He is crate trained and does great in the house. He takes a little bit to warm up to other dogs, but he loves people. He is an excellent leash walker and knows a couple of simple commands. He has been raised around cats, but would do best in a home as an only pet. He has also been raised around both adults and children. He is an active boy that needs some space to run or a human buddy to run with and play fetch. He tries really hard to make his people happy!I went for a weekend sleepover through our foster program, here is what my foster family has to say about me: `He is such an amazing pup! Great leash walker, loved my 10-year old, and did awesome in the house and in his kennel! He is playful (eventually), sweet, and loving. He did take a while to warm up to my dogs, but my dogs were not very welcoming at first, so definitely not on him.`Interested in taking a dog on a weekend sleepover? Email Foster@houstonhumane.org

Story
Meet Duck, a young, energetic dog who brings joy to everyone around him. He`s friendly, playful, and always ready for a cuddle or a new adventure. He weighs 30 pounds and likes running, tugging, toys, walks, chase, wrestling, and water. He knows the sit and no commands. Despite his boisterous and intense personality, Duck is incredibly sweet and lovable. He`s curious about the world, which makes him a bit excitable, but he`s also protective and affectionate. Duck is in need of some training (leash walking and house training), but with his eagerness to please, he`ll quickly become the perfect companion. He`s the epitome of a social butterfly, always eager for companionship and playful interactions. Duck enjoys frolicking with familiar canine friends but can be a bit shy around new dogs. Of course, being a loud chatterbox, he doesn`t hesitate to bark at unfamiliar dogs. He doesn`t like being alone and has no experience with children. In his original owner`s home, he was friendly and cautious around cats but had limited experience. He was given up because they didn`t have enough time for him and he didn`t get enough food so he may be possessive of his meals. He has gained eight pounds since coming to CAP. Duck`s boundless energy and loving nature make him the ideal addition to any home looking for a loyal friend. (tw 11/28/2025)FOSTER NOTES:Duckie is taking a break at his foster home where he`s honing his quacking skills! His foster is entertained by his curiosity, affection and love for the pets. More updates will follow as he shares more secrets from his past but please contact his foster, Ram at CAPdogfoster@gmail.com or 281-202-9076 for more details or to meet him. (RR, 12/05/2025)
