Meet our infamous Chihuahua, Kai!    He may be little, but he has a BIG personality. Kai bonds quickly with his people, but he can be a stereotypical Chihuahua when meeting someone new.    Kai is currently thriving in a foster home where he is absolutely adored by his foster family. He shares his temporary home with an older child and large dogs. This adorable lady is Tallulah! She came to the shelter as a stray and is now looking for her furever home. We suspect that she may have been a breeder dog, and has not enjoyed the pampered life she deserves. Tallulah is terrified in the kennel and flinches at touch, showing us that her past has not been kind. We want the best for her, and she needs an adopter who has experience with undersocialized/shutdown dogs. She is an older pup so it will take patience and dedication for her to learn how to be a furry family member. We don`t believe she has ever had any formal training, but she is food-motivated which should help. Tallulah has shown a little curiosity with other dogs and may benefit from having a canine companion to show her the ropes. As of right now, Tallulah does not know how to walk on a leash and honestly, the idea terrifies her so we think a fenced yard might be best! We don`t know how she feels about cats but she may do well with proper introduction. Due to her fearful nature, any children in the home should be 13 and older. She has a gentle spirit and potential to thrive if you`ll give her a chance.---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. Story
Fiona who goes by Fifi is a sweet and energetic little dog we adopted from a friend who was rehoming puppies in June 2015. She has lived in a full house of 7, 2 adults and 5 children and 2 cats since she was adopted. She’s even good with my grandson who’s now 4. Over the last year since we adopted a 3rd cat she has been marking furniture and having bowel movements on the floor daily. She has never been aggressive with the new cat and has no other new behaviors. I am caring for my elderly mother now plus my grandchildren and can no longer care for Fifi. Looking for a new home for a great family dog.
