Story
Hello! My name is Poppa! Meet Poppa Poppa is a lively and lovable boy with energy to spare and curiosity that never quits. He’s eager to explore the world, make new friends, and be part of the action. With his expressive eyes and playful spirit, Poppa is impossible not to adore. Energy and Personality Poppa is full of enthusiasm and thrives with daily exercise and mental stimulation. He loves long walks, active play, and time with his people. He enjoys meeting new people, gets along withcats, and has a big, friendly personality that makes him a joy to be around. Training and Behavior Poppa is house trained, knows how to sit, and comes when called. He’s food motivated, goes into his crate easily, and responds well to treats, praise, and redirection. He has been barking at the door and can get a little frantic indoors, but structure has helped him relax and learn good habits. With crate time, a small fenced-off area, and supervised play in the yard, he’s learning to settle and self-soothe. Social Life He enjoys the company of people and other dogs and is learning how to balance his excitement with calm behavior. He’s affectionate and likes being near his humans, but also benefits from clear boundaries and routines. Quirks and Special Traits Poppa has an expressive face that could melt anyone’s heart. His big, bright eyes always seem to say, “What’s next?” He’s adventurous, clever, and always up for a good time. Best Home Fit Poppa will do best with an active adopter who can offer consistent structure, exercise, and affection. A fenced yard and regular walks are ideal for him. He’s learning quickly and will thrive with guidance and attention.

Story
Current Location: Germantown, MD Bernie is an incredibly sweet, easygoing boy who believes life should move at a calm and comfortable pace. He is happiest stretched out in a cozy bed or curled up beside his person, enjoying a long peaceful nap. He loves being near you, enjoys being held, and offers quiet companionship without being needy. Energy and Personality Bernie is a true low energy dog. He prefers lounging and gentle moments over busy activity. Short walks and a few minutes of play with his favorite toys make him happy, then he is ready to relax again. He thrives in calm predictable spaces and does best in a quiet home where life feels steady and peaceful. Training and Behavior Bernie is house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash. He is responsive and easy to work with. He knows basic cues including come, stay, no, and understands his crate routine. He is a dog who wants to do well and settles easily into structure. Bernie can be protective of his toys. If someone reaches for a toy he is guarding, he may growl or snap. He also can be sensitive to outdoor noises and may growl when he hears something unfamiliar. These behaviors are manageable with respectful handling and a calm environment. Social Life Bernie enjoys being with his people and resting near them. He is not clingy and is comfortable being left alone. He prefers gentle interactions and quiet companionship rather than constant activity. Best Home Fit Bernie will do best in a quiet, low traffic home that appreciates a relaxed dog. He is perfect for someone who enjoys peaceful evenings, cozy naps, and soft walks. A calm household where his space and toys are respected will allow Bernie to feel safe and thrive. Bernie is ready to offer his gentle heart and steady companionship to someone who values a slower, sweeter way of life.
