Hi, I’m Dodger! I’m a playful, goofy guy who has really started to blossom since moving into my foster home! I was pretty nervous at first and spent my first day pacing and trying to figure everything out, but in less than a week I’ve already made incredible progress. Once I’m comfortable, I love playing with my people and other dogs, tossing stuffed animals into the air, “boxing” during playtime, and showing off some surprisingly impressive jumps! I currently live with several dogs and enjoy playing with them, especially the younger, active pup. I’ve mostly ignored the cats in my foster home, and while I’ll bark at the rabbit, I prefer to keep my distance. I’m still working on potty training and, most importantly, building trust around handling. Being suddenly grabbed, picked up, or approached from behind can scare me, and I’m uncomfortable having my collar or harness put on, so I need someone who will respect my boundaries and continue building my confidence with patience and positive reinforcement. An active home with older kids, ideally 10+, and perhaps another playful dog around my age could be a great fit for me. A fenced yard would be a huge bonus too! I may need a little extra patience in the beginning, but give me the chance to feel safe and you’ll get to see the silly, playful, affectionate Dodger that my foster family has already fallen for!
