Story
Hi, I’m Ricola! I’m a curious, affectionate little guy who loves being close to my people—especially if that means being held, riding along on outings, or snuggling up for belly rubs and naps. I was a bit shy at first and needed a day to come out of my shell, but once I realized I was safe, I settled in quickly and acted like I’d been part of the family all along. I get along well with kids, dogs, and other pets, and I’m always interested in making new friends (especially the cats). I’m medium energy: I enjoy short walks and exploring, but I also know how to relax and be a top-tier lap dog. I’m a determined little explorer and love to climb and investigate anything that catches my attention, so keeping snacks hidden and trash lids secured is a must. I’d thrive in a mellow home—ideally with older kids and maybe another pet for company—where I can get plenty of affection, patience (especially in cold weather!), and time to enjoy life at my own cozy pace.

Story
🐾Meet Carlito 🐾 Carlito is a 3.5-year-old Chihuahua mix who recently lost his elderly owner and is still adjusting to the change. He’s a sweet, loyal, and chill little guy who loves cuddling, relaxing, and just being with his person. He may bark at strangers at first, but he is not aggressive and does not bite, he just needs time to warm up. His only experience with children has been an infant, which he had positive interactions. Since his owner passed, he’s had some stress-related potty accidents, which should improve with patience and routine. Carlito would do best in a calm, loving home with someone who understands he’s grieving and just needs consistency and care He does enjoy walks.

Current Location: Seven Valleys, PA Meet Parker: The Snuggle Bug Who Plays Big Don't let his size fool you! This sweet boy loves to play with other dogs and can absolutely hold his own with the big guys. Parker brings enthusiastic energy to playtime but balances it perfectly with his mega snuggler personality. When the fun winds down, he's ready to curl up on your lap or snuggle with his canine friends. Parker is an easy going boy who fits seamlessly into home life. He's good with cats and doesn't care about them at all. He rides well in the car without needing a crate. He's doing very well with potty training and is making great progress in his crate training too. He may cry for the first few minutes when crated, but then settles in and sleeps peacefully all night. This food motivated pup is responsive and eager to please, making training a breeze. He's the kind of dog who brings joy without drama, plays hard, and loves even harder. Overall, Parker is a very sweet and easy going boy who just wants to be part of your pack. Whether he's romping with the big dogs, ignoring the cat, or snuggling on your lap, he's going to steal your heart. Ready to welcome this affectionate little guy into your home? Parker is waiting!

Story
Current Location: Germantown, MD Meet Bernie Bernie is an incredibly sweet, easygoing boy who believes life should move at a calm and comfortable pace. He is happiest stretched out in a cozy bed or curled up beside his person, enjoying a long, peaceful nap. He loves being near his people, enjoys being held, and offers quiet companionship without being demanding. Energy and Personality Bernie is truly a low energy dog. He prefers lounging and gentle moments over busy activity. Short walks and a little playtime with his favorite toys are just right for him, and then he is content to settle back down. He thrives in calm, predictable environments and does best when life feels steady and relaxed. Training and Behavior Bernie is house trained, crate trained, and doing very well with leash training. He continues to improve on walks and now only occasionally barks at sudden noises outside. He has shown how adaptable and eager to learn he is when given gentle guidance. He knows basic cues including come, stay, and no, and understands his crate routine well. Bernie truly wants to do the right thing and responds beautifully to structure and consistency. Social Life Bernie enjoys being near his people but is not clingy. He is comfortable spending time on his own and settles easily when left alone. He prefers quiet companionship and gentle affection rather than constant activity. Best Home Fit Bernie will thrive in a quiet, low traffic home with someone who appreciates a relaxed, easygoing dog. He is perfect for a person or couple who enjoys peaceful evenings, slow walks, and cozy time at home. A household that respects his space and values calm energy will help him feel safe and confident. Bernie is ready to offer his gentle heart, steady presence, and loyal companionship to the right home.

Story
Hello! My name is Billie! Fostered in King William, VA. Meet Billie: A Work in Progress Looking for a Patient Champion Billie is a 1 year old, 15 pound work in progress, and she's worth every bit of patience it takes to help her blossom! This girl has come so far already and is ready to continue her journey with the right person who will take their time and believe in her. The Billie You'll Love When Billie is comfortable, she's wonderful and very affectionate. She'll let you pet her, jump up into bed ready to snuggle, and show you just how sweet and loving she can be. She's house trained and quickly picked up learning how to use a doggy door, proving she's smart and capable when given the chance. What Billie Needs Billie tends to be nervous and will bark when anyone comes in the house. She has to get comfortable with someone new slowly. She would do best in a calm home without young children who may seem unpredictable to her. She needs an adult who will take their time, be patient with her. Good News Billie will go in a crate on her own, showing she's learning to trust routines and safe spaces. She gets along well with other dogs, which could be a wonderful support system for her as she continues to gain confidence. Best Home Fit Billie needs a calm, patient adult home without children. Someone experienced with unsure dogs who understands that progress takes time and celebrates every small victory. With the right person, Billie will continue to grow into the affectionate, wonderful companion she's already showing she can be. If you're ready to be Billie's patient champion and help her write the next chapter of her story, she's waiting to meet you! Apply today!

Story
Chili is a Chihuahua/Yorkie mix that is approximately 8 months old and weighs 4 lbs. He’s an affectionate little boy with a big personality who is loving, happy, and playful. He’s extremely fast when he has the zoomies and loves to curl up with you at any time. Our older dog is having a hard time with such a young dog. Chili gets along with children and other dogs, not sure how he is with cats or other animals. He’s up-to-date on shots. He hasn’t been neutered yet. He’s close to being completely housebroken and alerts us when he needs to go out. He's collar shy, which we've been working on.
