If you would like to adopt, please fill out an application at www.TexasChihuahuaRescue.org. The adoption fee is $400. All dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped current on flea, tick, hw meds and dewormer.
Texas Chihuahua Rescue is based in Pleasanton, Texas. Additional photos and videos will be made available to approved adopters Texas adopters will be required to pick up their adopted dogs in Pleasanton.

Mighty Mouse in an adorable hot mess. He is 4.4 pounds which is a HUGE improvement from when he came in at only 3.7 . He came in so skinny and frail. He would not eat at all , and is still a picky eater. Ideally he should be at 5-5.5 pounds. Mighty Mouse does have a heart murmer, he also had a dental. He came to us pretty sick, but in very good spirits. We did xrays and blood work as well as sent out blood smears. His white count was through the roof but we could not figure out why and the the only symptom he had was that he was not eating. The vet gave him antibiotics and steroids. He turned a corner pretty quick and is doing better but I still would not say he is the best of health. He will only eat a couple kibbles sometimes, he likes the kibbles 🤷♀️ believe me before I have a thousand people on here telling us what to feed him, when I say we have tried everything, I mean we have tried EVERYTHING!
We have had tried every single canned dog food You can possibly get at any pet store or supermarket. He will not touch canned dog food. Packets of dog food, he is not eating wet dog food. Period. He will eat people food and some kibbles. He seems to like pork , and pizza, the occasional breakfast taco. Hahaha
We are assuming he had a human that just fed them whatever they were eating. He will eat some fast food , but when we say eat, we mean literally he takes a few bites. So he is slowly gaining weight. Despite this, he is otherwise doing amazingly well. He prances around and he follows you everywhere. He does like his naps, but he is not overly sleepy. He loves to cuddle, be held, be doted upon and he really enjoys car rides. Mighty mouse has really good potty manners for a male dog his size, it’s actually surprising. He does not bark or fuss. He hates other dogs. I mean he really hates them. So he must be the only dog. He needs a home where someone could fuss over him all day long and make sure he’s eating and give him lots of love and attention. We do not know how long Mighty Mouse will be on this planet. There are no guarantees ,he may live a few more good years or he may only live a few more months , . It is impossible for us to know as is with any dog, but he is a bit of a special case.
