Story
Pet Location: Leo is currently living in a foster home. If you’d like to schedule a time to meet him, please contact Wayside Adoptions at (816)986-4426. My friends at Wayside say:- My foster family said that I am house-trained and crate-trained- I love toys and walks and hanging out with my people.- I am a lap dog!Home Requirement:- I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies. Hi there, I’m Leo! I’m such a special little fella. I’m happy and social and playful and so much fun. I’m still young and learning so much about life, but I’m smart and eager to please, and if you stay patient with me, I’m sure to bring you a dose of happiness and laughter on a daily basis. I’m the perfect combination of sweet and gentle mixed with energetic, silly, and curious. You’ll never feel lonely with me in your life! I hope you like that about me. And I’m already housebroken and crate trained.I’m a darling, 1 1/2-year-old, 16-pound Pomeranian mix, with soft fur, beautiful eyes, and a friendly personality. I never have a bad day. I came to Wayside when I fractured my leg, and my previous owner wasn’t able to care for me. I miss him, but he did his best for me by bringing me to safety at Wayside. I was able to get specialized surgery and a plate inserted to help my leg heal. And it worked, because I feel terrific now! Still, I will need regular vet checkups and care to help me stay healthy and feeling my best. So far, the best part of my whole ordeal is that I’ve been able to rest and recuperate in a loving foster home. Ah, life is good. I had a cast and a cone when I first got to foster, so Foster Mom set me up with a crate and a dog bed in my own little penned off area of the house, which worked out great. I like my crate, and I still stay in my area when no one is home, usually a few days a week, up to 5 hours. I peacefully sleep through the night on my dog bed next to Foster Mom’s room or in the bed with her daughter. I’m limited to getting on and off of only low furniture because of my leg, but I get stronger every day. I can’t wait to run at full speed again someday! Overall, I’m well behaved in my home for a young dog, and I let someone know when I need to go outside. I’m happy to be gently picked up and cuddled by Foster Mom or her daughter, and I get so excited whenever I see them. I’m also an excellent listener with an ability to match my energy to whoever I’m with

Story
DOB: 11/1/2020                Approx. Weight: 24.8 Adoption Fee: $275 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Stella Mae is what they call a Pomsky.... part Pomeranian and part Husky.  Stella can climb chain link fences, will need a 6ft wood fence. Stella Mae is right at that perfect size.... not to small not to big at 24pds. She is all fluffy, soft fur Stella Mae came to us when her family had a divorce. You can tell she was greatly loved by them. She has a sweet and playful personality.  Stella Mae makes friends with all the dogs she meets . Stella Mae will play with any size of dog and if they don't want to play, she will just hang out with them, if they want. She loves stuffy toys! So far she hasn't destroyed any of them which is very unusual because all the other dogs in her foster family does.  Stella Mae came into her foster home loving every person. She confidently with tail wagging met the husband and wife. She acted like they were her best friends. She is a confident little lady. She was raised with a little girl so we know she loves children. Stella is crate trained and housebroken.... kind of. She will go outside to potty but she will also use a potty pad if one is left out for her. She was walked on a leash to go potty outside and a potty pad was put down inside her home. Stella Mae has been trained to use one if needed. So, we put a large one near the door and she uses it if needed.  Stella Mae hasn't barked yet in her new foster home but she gives a whine and twirls for to get attention. Like a little ballerina!  Stella is going to make some lucky family a wonderful companion. Get your application in today! I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.   Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support!
