After his beloved owner moved into a nursing home, Charley tried to adjust to a new home—but the resident dogs weren’t quite as welcoming as he hoped. Now, Charley is with us, looking for his next chapter and a lap to call his own.Charley is a total lovebug who lives for being held and doted on. Whether you`re on the couch or simply walking from room to room, he`ll be your tiny shadow and your biggest fan. He’s housetrained and uses pee pads, too—an extra win for those cozy rainy days indoors.Though he’s in his golden years, Charley still has plenty of pep and personality. He’s an easygoing guy who would do best in a calm home with other small, gentle dogs like himself. He’s been polite around cats and has done great with young children—as long as they’re respectful of his small size.If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who just wants to be near his person, Charley might be the perfect match. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $275, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received.**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth.Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit.
