Meet Tigger – A Brave Boy Looking for a Patient, Understanding Home ❤️ Tigger is a 6.5-year-old Husky/Pomeranian mix who is discovering what life is like beyond being used for breeding. Every day brings new experiences, new sights, and new lessons as he learns what many dogs take for granted. This sweet boy is still figuring out some things but he has mastered the stairs and LOVES going for walks with his dog buddies. He would also make a great running partner.  Tigger will thrive in a home that understands that slow and steady wins the race. He needs patient adopters who can provide routine, structure, and gentle guidance as he continues to come out of his shell. The progress he makes may be small at times, but every step forward is worth celebrating. Are you ready to open your heart and home to a dog who is just beginning his journey? Tigger is waiting for someone who will give him the time, understanding, and love he deserves. Watching him blossom into the dog he was always meant to be is truly something special. Could you be the one to help Tigger write his next chapter? ❤️We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support. June 24, 2026, 9:41 am

Story
MEET GINGER! Breed: Pomeranian  Weight: 10 lbs  Date of Birth: February 3, 2023 This little diva is ready to trade her foster home for a furever throne! Ginger is a spirited, playful, and brilliantly sassy Pomeranian who’s basically a walking combo of charm, attitude, and fluff. At just 10 pounds, she’s got the heart (and the sass) to fill an entire castle. Let’s not sugarcoat it -Ginger is basically the canine version of an angry cat who’s mastered the art of selective affection. She’s not here to make friends with everyone on the block. Nope! She’s looking for one experienced human who understands that winning her trust *takes* time (treats and patience also help). Once she officially decides you’re worthy, prepare for all the snuggles and sweetness she’s been saving up just for you. She has learned over time that canine siblings can be fun and add more excitement to her day. While she enjoys romping around with dog friends, she can also get jealous with sharing her attention, so she will need a human that can provide structure when it comes to snuggle time so everyone gets their fair share or preferrably a home where she can be the one and only canine. Cats? She could care less about their inferior existence, but definitely more into finding her special person. If you’re new to dog parenting or want a “friendly for everyone” pup, Ginger is NOT your girl. But if you’re an experienced adopter craving a charming little spitfire who’s loyal AF once bonded, you just struck gold. She’s smart, quick to learn, and actually pretty playful. Leash manners? Work in progress (hey, even royalty has quirks), but with patience and treats, she’s eager to please. A securely fenced yard is her royal playground because she’s not a fan of crates and definitely appreciates personal space (she’s got boundaries, okay?). This glam girl would thrive in a calm, adult-only castle. She tends to bond faster with women but gives everyone a fair chance… eventually. Apartment or condo? Nah—Ginger takes her "official alert system" job VERY seriously, so a place with some space and quiet vibes is best. And because every queen deserves to look her best, Ginger’s coat needs regular brushing. Luckily, she LOVES her spa days—brushes, baths, the whole royal treatment. Ready to invite a tiny tyrant with a heart of gold into your life? Ginger’s got personality, poise, and the perfect amount of attitude to keep your days interesting. Apply today and let this diva reign supreme in your heart (and your home)! Story
Meet Hazel! Hazel is a beautiful 4-year-old Pomeranian looking for a patient and understanding family willing to give her the time she needs to blossom. She came into rescue alongside her Maltese/Shih Tzu mix sister, Penelope, after their owner was no longer able to care for them. Like her sister, Hazel arrived with overgrown nails and an unkempt coat, but with proper care and attention, she is feeling much more comfortable and ready for her next chapter. Hazel is a sweet girl, but she can be hesitant around new people and unfamiliar situations. She isn't the type to immediately jump into your lap and shower you with affection. Instead, she prefers to take her time, observe from a safe distance, and build trust at her own pace. Because of this, Hazel would do best in an adult-only home with a patient family that understands the importance of allowing a dog the time and space to decompress and settle into a new environment. Once Hazel learns that she is safe, her loving and loyal personality begins to shine. She forms strong bonds with her people and enjoys being close to those she trusts. She is food and treat motivated, which can be a helpful tool in continuing to build her confidence and strengthen her connection with her new family. Hazel does well with other dogs and does not seem to mind cats. She has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and continues to adjust to a routine in foster care. While she is not a big fan of being crated, she is learning that consistency and patience go a long way. Hazel will require regular grooming throughout her life to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. She is not a good fit for a tether or invisible fence and will require a secure physical fenced yard where she can safely explore and enjoy the outdoors. Hazel is searching for a special family willing to see beyond her initial shyness and appreciate the devoted companion she becomes once she feels secure. If you have a calm home, a patient heart, and are willing to let Hazel move at her own pace, you'll be rewarded with a loyal friend who will love you furever. Hazel is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedScheduled for spay surgery at our partner veterinary clinic in Chesterfield on 7/2 (included in the adoption fee).ADOPTION FEE: $375 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. Story
Kat is STILL searching for her forever home, and she’s so ready for her people. She had another home visit, and while she and their dog got along beautifully, the family realized they weren’t quite ready for a second pup. Totally okay, but our sweet girl is wondering when it’s finally her turn. Meet Kat: - Blue Heeler / Spitz mix - Estimated birthday: September 20, 2025 - Size: ~15 pounds and fully grown - Good with: dogs, cats, kids - literally everyone. She needs a dog friend in her home to keep her busy. - Energy: smart, active, playful, LOVES to run - Needs: a fenced-in yard to safely zoom her little heart out And since we’ve been asked… what’s a Spitz? Think fox-like face, fluffy features, bright eyes, and big personality. The easiest comparison: a tiny Pomeranian-type look, which makes sense because Kat is that size - petite, adorable, and not getting any bigger - she looks big in her pictures but she is lot smaller in person. Kat is the perfect mix of clever and cuddly. She learns fast, bonds deeply, and lights up when she gets to stretch her legs outside. She’s been so patient, but she truly deserves a home that’s ready for her joy, her energy, and her whole little heart. If you’ve been waiting for a small, smart, happy adventure buddy… Kat is waiting right back Adoption fee: $450
