Story
We’re not entirely convinced Mika is a dog. There’s a very real possibility she’s part squirrel.
Mika is a 1-year-old Pomsky, a whopping 22 pounds, and she seems to have exactly two speeds:
Moving.
And…actually, no. Just moving.
This little girl is spunky, curious, food motivated and full of personality. She’s excited to meet new people, but she’s still building her confidence. When someone new comes around, Mika will venture over to investigate…and then scamper right back to the person she knows.
Then back to investigate.
Then back to safety.
Then over again.
Basically, you get to watch her confidence grow in real time.
Once Mika knows you're one of her people, you've got yourself a funny little sidekick who is ready to see what you're doing, where you're going and—most importantly—whether you brought snacks.
At just 22 pounds, she's the perfect little adventure-sized package. She's also dog friendly, so a home with another friendly, confident dog could be a great fit for her.
Mika is currently waiting for someone to give her the opportunity to get out of Animal Control and into a home.
We would LOVE to bring her into Rover's Do Over.
But we need a foster or adopter first.
Mika doesn't need someone expecting a perfectly polished dog on day one. She's young, she's energetic, and she's still gaining confidence. She needs someone who will give her a little patience, continue her training and let this tiny weirdo blossom into the dog we can already see underneath those nerves.
And with her being food motivated, we're pretty sure Mika can be convinced of just about anything with the appropriate snack-based compensation.
