Hi, I’m Lucian ??I’m a 6-month-old Pomsky mix, and I’ve been told I walk a little… differently. The best way to describe it is kind of funny — my back feet move in a unique way, almost like a little raccoon waddle. It’s part of what makes me me.I’ve been fully examined by the vet, and while they noticed the unusual gait, they couldn’t determine an exact cause. I do have a grade 1 out of 4 bilateral MPL, meaning my kneecaps are slightly loose, but that’s considered mild and may be unrelated to how I walk. It’s possible there could be something neurological going on — but at this time, we just don’t know.What we do know is that I’m happy, social, and enjoying life. I get around just fine, I play, and I don’t let my funny walk slow me down. A future adopter is welcome to pursue further testing with a specialist if they choose, but that would be at their own expense, and there’s no guarantee that my gait would change or need to.I’m not fragile. I’m not sad. I’m just a little quirky.If you’re someone who understands that not every dog fits a perfect mold — and that sometimes the funniest walks belong to the most special pups — I’d love to meet you ???Lucian is neutered, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. Marcy is a sweet, sweet girl who’s getting used to being in a family environment—but loving it so far, and every day she’s opening up more and more. She’s VERY, VERY calm and has been totally unbothered by her big, sometimes rowdy foster brother (a big doodle!). She’s still having some accidents and doesn’t know how to walk on a leash yet, which is completely normal given she likely came from a breeder-surrender situation; we’re practicing as much as we can with all the snow, but for now she mostly uses pee pads. Funny enough, she’s a real little lady and prefers to do her business when she’s alone. She doesn’t like leashed walks, but she’ll follow you around no matter where you go, and she loves being carried in a cross-body bag with her head out so she can see what’s going on. She loves her meals but isn’t begging or treat-motivated at all, and her favorite thing so far is snoozing—plus her best “trick” is simply being the cutest fluff ball. ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. She was rescued pregnant from a dangerous avenue in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, after a difficult life that included at least one previous litter. Today, she’s safe, cared for, and steadily blossoming into a wonderful companion. Maya is doing beautifully in a home environment. She is doing well with house-training, gentle, and learning every day that life can be calm and comfortable. While she can be a little reserved at first, she warms up with kindness and quickly shows her sweet, loving nature. Once she knows you, she enjoys affection and being close to her people. She’s still getting used to leash walking, but she’s making progress and will continue to improve with patience and positive experiences. Maya doesn’t need perfection — just a home willing to keep cheering her on as she grows more confident.
