You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Say hello to Evie! Evie is a 3&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old Pomsky weighing about 20 pounds. She arrived with her brother Scout and is now ready to find a loving new home. Evie is a happy, affectionate little dog. She follows her foster mom everywhere and loves to curl up at her feet. Walks are one of her favorite things—she gets so excited when it’s time to go. She also adores the snow and cold weather and will happily lie in the snow when she’s outside. She appears to be housetrained and will also use a potty pad if needed. Evie is crate trained and enjoys car rides almost as much as walks. Evie can be barky when she gets excited, so that’s something to keep in mind. She gets along well with other dogs and loves to run and play outside. She also enjoys her chewies and toys. She has spent time around cats and doesn’t mind them. We know she does well with kids ages 12 and up. Evie is a loving, loyal dog who bonds quickly with her person. She would be thrilled to have an active home where she can go on lots of adventures and explore. She has been professionally groomed and will need regular grooming to keep her coat looking great. Evie is ready to bring joy, fun, and loyalty to her forever family! Evie is spayed, up to date with core vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $475 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 4, 2026, 12:17 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Say hello to Scout! Scout is a 3&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old, 13&#226&#128&#145pound Pomski who came to rescue with his sister after the previous owner could no longer care for them. This fluffy little guy may be small, but Scoot has a huge personality, a joyful spirit, and a whole lot of love to give. Scout is a happy, energetic boy whose absolute favorite thing in the world is walks—lots and lots of walks! The moment the leash comes out, Scout pops into full “adventure mode,” complete with excited spins, happy bounces, and joyful barks. Scout loves exploring, sniffing, and being on the move. If he hears the word walk, the enthusiasm level instantly skyrockets. And when it comes to cold weather—well, Scout’s Husky side shines bright. Snow? Frosty mornings? What cold? Scout lives for wintertime and would play outside endlessly if allowed. A fenced yard is a bonus, but not required—just be prepared for a quick game of “catch me” when it’s time to come inside because he isn’t always ready for the fun to stop. In his foster home, Scout gets along well with other dogs and coexists just fine around cats. He enjoys attention from humans, is social without being pushy, and absolutely loves booty scratches. Scout also rides well in the car and is motivated by treats, which makes training easier. He’s doing well with housetraining and has only had a few accidents—consistency and routine will help him finish polishing those skills. Scout was recently neutered, so a short adjustment period is expected. Because Scout can be vocal when excited or wanting attention, apartment living could be challenging, especially if neighbors prefer quiet. A home where he is free to express that happy Pomsky voice may be a better fit. Kids 12+ have been around Scout and he did fine.  He enjoys attention but can be jumpy and exuberant when excited. Scout is affectionate, sweet, and loves being near people. Once Scout settles in, he will curl up, relax, and even tug blankets around so he can feel a cold draft—very on brand for this little snow lover. Scout is a loving, loyal dog who will thrive with someone who enjoys walking, playing, and spending quality time with their furry companion. If you’re looking for a fun, adventurous buddy who will celebrate every day with you, Scout might just be your perfect match. Scout is now neutered, up to date with core vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also been professionally groomed!  His adoption fee is $475 We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security. Story
Gabe was born about .....   Gabe is good with other dogs and cats alike.  He has been around visiting children as young as 2.  He does fine on leash, but the last few years the owner has not been able to walk him and he has used potty floor pads in the home.  She felt that if he happened to get off leash that he would hang around his human.  He did ride beautifully in the car on the two hour trip here.  He is not a chewer and hasn't seemed to enjoy toys or maybe had not had access to any for some time.  He is not a lap hog but does love to sit nearby and enjoys his humans companionship.  Considering all the changes in a short amount of time he moved in here rather easily and should do so again when he finds another forever home.  He has had some vet care over the years.  He is overweight but that has to do with his circumstances.  This cutie is ready for a new start in life! We received a plea from a social worker in a city a couple hours away that an elderly lady had been released from the hospital a couple of days ago and went home to her two dogs who had been shut in the bathroom of her mobile home for a month when she had emergency surgery and a neighbor stopped by to give food and water.  Yes, there were relatives not far away, but as we see day in, day out, family disappoints when it comes to an elderly human's pets.  The social worker explained the lady needed to go into assisted care but she refused until her dogs were in a safe place.  Truly, we are proud of her for that devotion and so are Gabe and Chewy.  The two dogs have always been together but are not terribly bonded.  Still we will be looking for a home where there is another dog companion or a human who is home much of the time.  The lady was very grateful when we arrived to escort the dogs to Cuba and the social worker was there at the same time to escort the lady in a care facility.  No one would call this a happy ending but everyone involved did the very best they could in a tough situation.   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__500.00______. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html.
