Story
The Kramer family has chosen to sponsor the costs of transport and medical care for the 17 Walworth dogs as a gift in honor of all our fur babies we have lost over the years and all my friends' fur babies that have also crossed the Rainbow Bridge - none will ever be forgotten.  Our wish is that each of the Walworth-furred ones find loving homes where they are cherished.  Love, Cheryl, Dave, Ryan, and Cassie Kramer   Benny, born around August 1, 2020 and weighing approximately 13 pounds, came from a home in the Rochester area that needed assistance with their 30 dogs. The owners welcomed too many dogs into their home and eventually became overwhelmed, leading them to seek help. Benny is a delightful little fellow who loves his humans dearly. He may try to herd them if they stray off course, and watch out for playful nibbles on exposed toes, making him unsuitable for homes with small children. Initially shy around strangers, once Benny warms up to you, he becomes the most affectionate companion, eager to cuddle in your lap after some play time fun.  Benny is house trained but we like to mention that often these small dogs benefit from having potty floor pads handy for those just in case moments.  He's comfortable riding in cars, walking on a leash, and even enjoys kayaking—anything to be close to his people. Benny's cheerful demeanor and compatibility with other dogs, regardless of size, make him an exceptional pet who could easily become your most cherished companion.  Benny is also fine with cats.  In the last photo he is wet because it's after a bath and he felt feisty.   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Story
Gabe was born about October 28, 2016 and weighs about 18 lbs.   Gabe is good with other dogs and cats alike.  He has been around visiting children as young as 2.  He does fine on leash, but the last few years the owner has not been able to walk him and he has used potty floor pads in the home.  She felt that if he happened to get off leash that he would hang around his human.  He did ride beautifully in the car on the two hour trip here.  He is not a chewer and hasn't seemed to enjoy toys or maybe had not had access to any for some time.  He is not a lap hog but does love to sit nearby and enjoys his human companionship.  Considering all the changes in a short amount of time he moved in here rather easily and should do so again when he finds another forever home.  He has had some vet care over the years.  He arrived somewhat overweight but that had to do with his circumstances as he's lost it nicely while with us.  As with most Poms if there is something fun to bark about he will oblige. He came terribly matted and seemed very relieved and happy to be brushed and some of it had to be shaved.  This cutie is ready for a new start in life! We received a plea from a social worker in a city a couple hours away that an elderly lady had been released from the hospital a couple of days ago and went home to her two dogs who had been shut in the bathroom of her mobile home for a month when she had emergency surgery and a neighbor stopped by to give food and water.  Yes, there were relatives not far away, but as we see day in, day out, family disappoints when it comes to an elderly human's pets.  The social worker explained the lady needed to go into assisted care but she refused until her dogs were in a safe place.  Truly, we are proud of her for that devotion and so are Gabe and Chewy.  The two dogs have always been together but are not terribly bonded.  Still we will be looking for a home where there is another dog companion or a human who is home much of the time.  The lady was very grateful when we arrived to escort the dogs to Cuba and the social worker was there at the same time to escort the lady in a care facility.  No one would call this a happy ending but everyone involved did the very best they could in a tough situation.   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__500.00______.
