** Bonded with Nebbercracker **I’m Constance, a precious, tiny tot Pomeranian who is ready for a fresh start after a bit of a rough journey.My previous owner brought me and my brother, Nebbercracker, to the Humane Society of York County after falling on hard times and not being able to care for us. We’re a bonded pair who rely on each other and need to find a home together! I’m a small package, under 10 pounds, and my estimated birth date is October 2017.While my buddy Nebber is bigger than me, I want to be clear that I run the show! I have a personality more than twice my size and my humans at the rescue say that I’m flat out adorable.We came to HSYC needing some TLC. We’ve gotten the love and care we needed and are ready for a forever home!Because we’re semi-seniors, any adopter age 65 or over qualifies for a discount on adoption costs with the Seniors for Seniors program.I may be a senior, but I have a whole lot of pep in my step. I love going for my daily walks (especially when I walk with Nebber), and I do well on leash. Story
Kirk may be small at just 6 pounds, but his journey has been anything but easy. This handsome, fluffy Papillon/Chihuahua mix is around 1–2 years old and is learning what it means to live a life filled with safety, affection, and choice — things he never had before.  Kirk was rescued from an extreme hoarding and breeding situation where over 140 dogs were living without proper care or socialization. Because of this, he entered foster care fearful and unsure of human touch. Trust did not come easily — but love has been changing everything. In his foster home, Kirk has begun to soften. With patience and consistency, he is discovering that laps are for cuddling, voices can be gentle, and attention can be something to enjoy rather than fear. He now seeks out affection and loves being close to his people, especially when he feels secure. Kirk is still on a confidence-building journey. He will benefit from daily walks, positive reinforcement, and a calm environment where he can continue learning at his own pace. A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus, and a home with older children or adults who understand his sensitive nature would be ideal. He is crate trained and continuing to improve with house training. Kirk is not a finished story — he is the beginning of one. A story of resilience, healing, and a dog finally becoming who he was always meant to be. If you have the patience to earn his trust (it won't take long) and the heart to love him through his transformation, Kirk will repay you with loyalty, devotion, and the quiet joy of watching a once-frightened dog flourish. Story
Kamilla came into my life like a burst of light, all curious eyes, soft fur, and a heart bigger than her paws. From the beginning, she taught me how to slow down, how to laugh on the hard days, and how love can show up in the smallest moments. Our days were filled with learning each other, quiet companionship, and the kind of joy that only a dog can give without asking for anything in return. Right now, my body needs more care than I can give, as I recover from brain surgery, and loving Kamilla means choosing what is best for her, even when it breaks my heart. I want her to have a home where she can run, be nurtured, and continue growing into the incredible dog she is meant to be. Letting her go is not a reflection of a lack of love, but of how deeply I love her. Kamilla deserves a life full of warmth, patience, and joy, and my greatest hope is that she finds a family who will love her as fiercely and gently as she deserves.
