Story
Socks is a 3-year-old Husky/Pit/Boxer mix with one very important goal in life: find her person and love them with everything she’s got.
This girl is loyal to her core and forms strong bonds quickly. Once Socks decides you’re one of her people, congratulations—you now have a devoted shadow. Whether you’re heading out for a walk, jumping in the car for an adventure, watching TV, or doing absolutely nothing on the couch, Socks just wants to be included.
Her current foster has gotten to see what a special girl she truly is. Socks has wonderful house manners, is house trained and crate trained, and is incredibly trusting and easy to handle. Nail trims? No problem. Teeth brushing? She handles it like a champ. She seems genuinely grateful for the love and care she receives and has a sweet way of showing her appreciation right back.
Socks absolutely loves people and especially loves kids. She has been wonderful with the children she meets and happily soaks up all the attention and hugs they’re willing to give her.
She is also dog friendly, although she can be selective with certain dogs, so a meet and greet with any potential canine siblings would be important. Cats, however, are a definite no for Socks.
She’s the perfect combination of adventure buddy and couch potato. She loves walks, exploring new places, and hopping in the car for a ride, but she’s equally thrilled to curl up beside you for a good cuddle.
And then there’s her personality. Socks loves to sing and has a whole collection of hilarious hyena-like noises, happy grumbles, and commentary for just about every occasion. Does she look a little like someone crossed a gargoyle with a hyena? Maybe. But we happen to think it’s part of her charm.
Her vet calls her a “gem of a dog,” and the more we get to know Socks, the more we agree.
And here’s the REALLY good news: Socks’ adoption fee has been fully sponsored! Her approved adopter will still receive all the same veterinary care included with adoption—her spay, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite prevention, and microchip—but her adoption fee is covered.
Socks has so much love and loyalty waiting for the right family. Now she just needs someone to finally choose her.
