Adoptable animals at VPAC are brought in through Homewood Animal Control them held for 10 days for an owner to claim. After that the animals are updated on vaccines and given fecal exams, and heartworm tests. The adoption fee also covers the cost of spaying/neutering services which we provide to the animal at 6 months of age or prior to their adoption.

She already knows basic commands including sit, shake, and touch, Nova is doing very well with both potty training and kennel training and has adapted quickly to a home environment. She also loves playing with toys and chewing on bones. She gets along well with other dogs and would be happy with a canine companion or as the center of attention in her new home. True to her breed, Nova has the classic husky “woo” and loves to talk to her people. Nova will thrive in an active home where she can get regular exercise, as she truly enjoys staying busy. She would make a great hiking, walking, or adventure buddy. Nova is a classic husky — vocal, smart, playful, and full of personality — and will thrive with someone who appreciates the breed’s charm and energy. Nova is being fostered in Huntsville, AL. Hi, I'm Kevin! I'm only 13 months old, so still kind of a big puppy, but I'm the BEST boy! I live in a foster home with four other big dogs and I love them! I want to play all the time, so I'd love to have a playmate in my new home. My breed mix includes Great Pyrenees, German Shepherd, and husky. My foster mom takes me on 2-4 mile walks every day and I am very good on the leash. We go to the dog park at least once a week and I love to play with the dogs and chase the squirrels. I believe in early to rise, early to bed! After about 7 pm, I just want my comfy dog bed. I am house-trained, crate-trained, vaccinated, up-to-date on heartworm and flea and tick prevention, and micro-chipped. Want to meet me? Just apply at forrescue.net!
