Story
Princess (A118090) is an 11-year-old husky who weighed over 50 lbs at intake!Foster update: Miss Princess has been enjoying her time in foster! Her foster mom said that one of her favorite hangouts is the pantry and she is often found curled up in there. She also like closets and will curl up on a pile of clothes if left out. Princess was said to prefer blankets to dog beds so she can mold her cozy little pile into her perfect shape. Her foster said that when she is a fast learner and quickly figured out the stairs and doggy door in their home! Princess was said to LOVE hanging outside in the snow! Princess has also met quite a few different dogs and did well. However, it was noted that she is a bit of a loner but welcomes pets and attention! Princess is still looking for her new home and if you are interested in meeting her, please let us know! 12/13/25 This sweet older gal is Princess! Despite her age, she remains a curious, playful, and incredibly sweet girl, although she can be a little timid. Princess thrives in a calm, stable environment where she feels safe and loved. She enjoys leisurely walks on a leash and loves car rides, making her a great companion for someone who appreciates gentle outdoor activities and quiet moments together. Princess is a truly special dog who will reward her family with loyalty, affection, and companionship. She is looking for someone who will appreciate her gentle soul and give her the loving retirement she deserves. Princess was said to get along with other dogs and children. Please make sure any and all introductions are done in a slow and controlled manner. Courtesy of the shelter fund, Princess was sent out for a senior workup and dental cleaning! If you are interested in meeting Princess, please give us a call!07/10/19 Princess came to the shelter because her owner could no longer care for her. She is an outside dog and has been trained for mushing; she generally ran as a wheel dog. Princess is extremely shy with strangers and will do best in a home with those that understand they will need to go slow with her. If you have children, please bring them down to meet Princess prior to adoption. Princess will need to be on a leash at all times outside- if she is loose or gets spooked and takes off she will not come to you. While at the shelter Princess got away from a tender in our fenced dog walking yard and we had to bring her sister Blackie in to retrieve her. Princess was kept with her sister Blackie and another dog, but may not do as well with unfamiliar dogs, as she has not been socialized extensively. If you have another dog in the home, she should meet that dog prior to adoption to ensure she can live happily with it. If you have room in your life for a pair, Princess would enjoy being adopted with her sister Blackie- they live and work well together. Blackie may be a confidence booster for her and together they might be great candidates for a child's beginning mushing team.January 14, 2026, 10:44 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Clay (A140074) is a 5-year-old AK Husky x Karelian Bear Dog mix who weighed nearly 55 pounds on intake! 01/12/26 Clay is back at the shelter and looking for his perfect fit. He was a bit more of a handful than his owner was prepared for. Clay was said to be kennel-trained but is not fully housebroken. He is looking for a patient owner who can help him get on a routine and master his potty training. Clay was described as shy but friendly and was stated to do great with children. He has no known history with other animals. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions. He was also stated to have a gentle style of play. We encourage his next owner to bring him to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners and to learn a trick or two. He is a smart active breed looking for a home that can keep him stimulated and out of trouble! Clay was also said to ride well in vehicles and would love to go on plenty of adventures. If you are interested in meeting Clay, please let us know! 10/30/25 This sweet excitable boy is Clay! Clay arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new place to call home! At the shelter, he has been eager to meet new people and does not seem fussed by his doggy neighbors. As he was a stray, we do not know his experience with children or other animals. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new potential friends. Huskies are known for having high prey drives so take extra caution with smaller critters. Clay was found running at large and has proven to have plenty of energy to burn. He is looking for a home that can keep him both mentally and physically. He should also be on a leash, secure tie-out, and supervised in a fenced in yard. We have found that he loves the game of keep away (but does so in a playful manner). At the shelter, he has also shown that he does have a chill side and will lie on a blanket and relax as well. He is looking for that perfect balance. If you are interested in meeting Clay, please let us know! January 13, 2026, 8:06 pm

Artemoose (A140550) is a 10-month-old AK Husky x Hound mix who weighed 55.3 pounds on intake!12/11/25 This pretty lady is Artemoose! Artey or Moose if you prefer! Artemoose arrived at the shelter with incomplete paperwork, but a pet sitter did reach out with behavioral information. Artemoose was said not to be fully housebroken but will try to alert you if you are home. She was said to be partially kennel-trained, but would break out of the kennels if they were not tough enough. When left alone, if not kenneled, she was known to chew up things. Artemoose would benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners. She is a young active dog who needs routine mental and physical stimulation. Artemoose was said to do well with children, strangers, and adults. She was also said to do well with other dogs but was known to chase after cats. She would do best in a home without small critters that she may be tempted to chase. Artemoose is a sweet young dog looking for some guidance. If you are interested in meeting her, please let us know! December 29, 2025, 9:26 pm
