Story
Trym (A109351) is an 11-year-old Ak Husky who weighed a little over 60lb on intake!07/18/26 These sweet old brothers are Trym and Loki! While we are not requiring they be adopted together, they are quite fond of each other. So maybe consider the pair, if you have the time and space! They were surrendered to the shelter due to their owners moving. They were described as being initially shy but quickly become friendly and affectionate after warming up to you. They know some basic commands, such as sit, come, lay down, outside, kennel and enough. They were said to be great children and curious about strangers. They have experience with dogs, cats and even livestock like horses and goats. Please use caution if planning to introduce either of these boys into a home with other animals. They are looking for a home to live out their golden years in. Loki has been known to eat cat toys from time to time resulting in him having two surgeries to remove them so it is very important to monitor them and make sure they arent getting into things they shouldn't. However both boys are comfortable in kennels and do well being kennels when unattended. They do have experience living in fenced in kennel runs outside however have never lived on a chain. If you are interested in giving a retirement home to Trym, Loki, or the pair, please give us a call!July 19, 2026, 11:25 pm

Story
Lilo (A140931) is a 3-year-old AK Husky x Pointer mix who weighed 50 pounds on intake!01/22/26 These eager-to-go pups were surrendered to the shelter because their owner is facing some medical concerns and is unable to provide them with the lifestyle they need. They are working dogs and were said to be wonderful sled dogs! All these pups were stated to get along well with other dogs and are great pullers. They are accustomed to living out on a dog house but were said to have enjoyed coming inside during that super cold snap. However, they are not housebroken, and if you do plan on transitioning them to indoors, they will need help adjusting to indoor living – potty training, kennel training, basic commands, etc. They know mushing commands but that is about it. They would love to join a rec team or even to become your adventure buddy if you live an active lifestyle – skijoring, bikejoring, or even becoming your hiking buddy! Anything to keep them both mentally and physically stimulated so they stay out of trouble! If you are interested in meeting any of this crew or possibly the whole gang, please let us know! Story
Chewy (A141750) is a 5-year-old AK Husky who weighed 53 pounds on intake! 04/16/26 This lover boy is Chewy! Chewy was surrendered to the shelter with his friend Tequila! These kiddos have been living the outdoor sled dog life. They are used to living on a doghouse, so if you plan on transitioning them indoors, keep in mind they will need help with all the basics. However, they may be keen to learn! They have previously run a dog team, but their surrendering owner felt they may enjoy being on a smaller rec team or even becoming your skijor buddy. They are an active breed, so they will need continued mental and physical stimulation. Both Tequila and Chewy were said to do well with children, strangers, and adults. They also have historically done well with other dogs and livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new people and other animals. If you are interested in meeting Chewy, please let us know! July 19, 2026, 11:25 pm
