Story
Zyla is a beautiful little Siberian Husky/American Pitbull mix (born 10/2024).  She is friendly with all people and animals.  She is housebroken, crate trained and has lots and lots of energy!  The perfect home for Zyla would be with a family that would love to spend time playing with her and she'd be happy to share the home with another dog or cat.  A fenced in yard is a must as she loves playing outside.  (She'll also take off out the front door if you're not watching!)  After Zyla is done playing, she'll turn into a lap dog giving lots of kisses.   She does not like to be left alone and will voice her displeasure when she is in her crate. Zyla is not scared of children, but she is scared of loud noises.  So if someone screams, she will be scared.  Potential adopters should be aware she might be better with older kids depending on your situation at home. If you have attention to give and love play time, please consider adopting Zyla!! The suggested adoption donation for Zyla is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.    Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.   Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital or Omaha Animal Medical Group in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.   ##2336329##

Story
Skye is a Pomsky, born appx Oct 2023.  Skye is looking for a home with a fenced yard and no children (older teens might be okay).  She's a little shy around kids and just not sure what to make of them.  She is very sweet and likes to give kisses to her people.  She knows some commands, knows how to fetch and enjoys being active.  She is leash trained and enjoys a walk now and then.  Skye would enjoy traveling the neighborhood on her own and would run out the door if given the opportunity - be sure to keep an eye on her when letting visitors in!  She definitely needs a secure fenced yard.  Skye needs her own space for dining so she knows that no one is going to take her food - same with treats.  She doesn't like to be left alone or kenneled, so it would be awesome if her person works from home or is not gone long hours of the day.  If left alone, she is not sure what to do or not do - she should probably be kenneled until you're able to teach her the lay of the land.  She won't have a problem being vocal and letting you know how she feels about things.  :)  We're not sure about potty training - she might need help with that.  She does have a little submissive urination. Skye has lots of love to share.  Please apply to adopt if you're that special person that has time and patience to help Skye with some training and give her a forever home. The suggested adoption donation for Skye is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
