Meet Canelo! Canelo can be nervous when meeting new people and asks for friends to go slowly with introductions. He may need extra time in the home before feeling comfortable. Canelo has been described as an energetic boy who loves to play. Canelo would benefit from basic obedience training and socialization to grow more confident when facing new people and places. Ask TCHS staff for tips. Canelo has met other dogs but did not enjoy his time with them. We think he would do best in a home without other dogs or possibly one with another dog who is calm and respectful towards other dogs. He has not met cats. Canelo lived with children in the past and did very well with them! Even so, slow and proper introductions to resident pets and children is always recommended. Ask a TCHS staff member for information on how to ease the transition! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. **Walter Sr. is available through TCHS' Adoption Ambassador Program and is not at the shelter! Call 320-252-0896 to arrange a meet-and-greet** Meet Walter Sr! This sweet man came to TCHS as a stray, so not much is known of his past. Slow and proper introductions are always recommended whenever introducing a new animal to the home. Walter Sr. has been very sweet since coming in. He's been gentle with staff and is happy to be around anyone giving him attention. Walter Sr. is a senior boy and should be seen by a vet soon after adoption to get him started on a senior care plan to make sure he is happy and comfortable continuing his golden years. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received.
