Story
Location: North Mankato, MN Meet your new best friend, Kaya! This sweet girl may be a little timid when you first meet her, but once she feels safe, her loving personality shines. Earn her trust, and you'll have a loyal companion who's happiest right by your side—especially if she can do her signature "lean" against your leg while you give her pets. She's house-trained, kennel-trained, and such a well-mannered girl that she doesn't really need to be crated. At the end of the day, she's an early-to-bed kind of gal who loves curling up in a cozy, cave-like space for a good night's sleep. She's wonderful with other dogs, especially smaller ones, and would be happy with a canine companion or as your one-and-only. One way to her heart? Cheese! It's her absolute favorite treat. Like many dogs, loud noises such as fireworks and motorcycles can be scary for her, so she'll do best with a family that understands her need for a calm, reassuring environment during noisy moments. If you're looking for a gentle soul who will reward your patience with unwavering love and loyalty, this girl is ready to become your devoted best friend. Give her a little time to settle in, and she'll give you her whole heart. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: St Paul, MN Shalla is an old soul with a youthful heart. There’s a gentle wisdom about her that’s apparent the moment you see her—but step closer, and she’ll happily surprise you with joyful hops and rapid‑fire kisses. She’s the kind of dog who reminds you that some hearts stay forever young. Shalla has spent much of her life being a devoted mama, and now it’s her turn to be cared for. And care for her you will—because she is stunning. From her beautifully lined eyes to her glowing golden coat, she turns heads wherever she goes. We aren’t quite sure of her breed, but she has the majestic face of a wolf paired with big, elegant paws—though she’s not especially tall. Her coat is thick, sleek, and surprisingly easy to maintain considering how full it is. Shalla would thrive in a home with people around most of the time. She loves kids and enjoys being part of the action. She’s polite with other dogs—she likes them well enough but doesn’t necessarily need a canine companion to be happy. What she does need is togetherness. Shalla doesn’t love being alone, and adopters should be prepared to use a heavy‑duty crate and possibly medication when away from home. Aside from that, she is an amazing, well‑behaved dog who simply wants to be close to her people. And yes—we know you’re wondering—she has had zero accidents. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will soak up every moment by your side, Shalla is ready to finally be someone’s “baby.” *Originated from: South Dakota Reservation. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Eden Prairie, MN Lugnut is an amazingly happy and friendly dog. He is very adaptable and adjusts quickly to new settings. He just goes with the flow. People love Luggy! He just makes an impression on you - and makes you want to share your food with him or give him a treat. We’ve seen him with people ages 6-80 years and he wins everyone over. Looking for an office mate? Lugnut’s your guy. He will happily hang out, chew his toys and keep you company. He’s a curious but quiet kind of guy. He rarely barks, even with two vocal resident dogs around. There’s even a chance he’ll try to drag all 50 pounds into your lap as you work. At the end of the day, Lugnut becomes a bit snuggly. He likes to hop up on the couch and sit with his people, maybe chewing on a toy or laying his head on your lap. Lugnut adores dogs of all varieties! He loves to wrestle, play tug or just hang out with dogs of all ages. He’s a bit of a rare find because he even happily plays with puppies of all ages and sizes. This boy is crate trained and happily hangs out in his crate with food or toys. He sleeps all night in the crate without making a peep. He may need to be crated when home alone because he does like to chew his people’s things when they’re not looking. Charging cables and electrical cords are his favorites! His training is coming along. He’s nearly potty trained (just a few accidents) - and has made a lot of progress on this in a few weeks. He always keeps his crate clean. He will sometimes whine when he needs to go out. He also responds to sit and uses that as a way to request treats and attention. Lugnut is treat motivated and will learn quickly. *Originated from: South Dakota Reservation. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
