He had been there for at least six months, and some people believed he had been surviving there for more than a year. This wasn't some quiet, forgotten corner of town. It was a busy park where families gathered and games were played every weekend. People came and went, yet this poor boy was left to fend for himself, surviving by digging through the garbage people left behind. Can you imagine being so close to people every day and still having no one step up to give you a home? Thankfully, Apollo was finally taken in at the beginning of October 2026. His days of searching for scraps and surviving on his own are behind him. Now, this beautiful boy is ready to find the family who will make sure he is never forgotten again. 🤍 🐶 His Personality — Friendly, Fun, and Full of Life! Apollo is a happy, outgoing boy who loves being around people and other dogs. He has lived in a busy park surrounded by children and families, and he has been friendly with the people he has encountered. He absolutely LOVES other dogs of all sizes and enjoys running, playing, and exploring alongside his furry friends. He has also been cat-tested and simply ignores the cats! Apollo is an explorer at heart. He loves roaming around the property, checking everything out, and making sure he doesn't miss a thing. When told to go into his crate, Apollo happily goes in and lies down. 🩵 Meet Kodiak — A Beautiful Blue-Eyed Boy Looking for a Forever Home! 🩵 Approximately 5 years old | 50-ish lbs | Siberian Husky | Cat-Friendly | Dog-Friendly | House & Crate Trained Kodiak’s story is one of heartbreak, loyalty, and hope. 💔🐾 When his family moved away, they left Kodiak and his brother behind at an abandoned house, as if they meant nothing. But these two loyal boys didn’t give up on their people. For months, they waited in the same place, hoping the people they loved would come back for them. Sadly, they never did. Thankfully, a kind neighbor provided food and water until another concerned neighbor contacted animal control. Before long, Kodiak and his brother found themselves in the shelter system, facing a heartbreaking fate that far too many big dogs face. They were placed on the euthanasia list. But we saw them. We knew their lives mattered. And we went and got them out! ❤️ After 2.5 months in foster care, Kodiak is finally ready for the chapter he has always deserved: a family who will love him forever and never leave him behind again. 🩵 The good stuff about Kodiak! Where do we even begin? This boy is the total package! ✨ House-trained AND crate-trained! Woohoo! 🐱 Cat-friendly! Kodiak has been cat-tested and isn't bothered by cats at all. And can we talk about his LOOKS?! 😍 Kodiak is absolutely gorgeous, with a stunning mix of black, white, cream, and beautiful reddish-brown tones. His striking blue eyes, framed by that gorgeous black eyeliner, are impossible to miss. He's the kind of dog who turns heads wherever he goes, and people can't help but stop and admire him! But underneath all that beauty is an even more beautiful soul. ❤️ 🏡 Kodiak's dream home Kodiak would love a home where he can be part of the family and receive plenty of love, attention, and affection. Another friendly dog to play with would be a wonderful bonus, but it's not essential. One important note about his health: Our veterinarian suspects Kodiak may be in the early stages of arthritis and has recommended periodic pain-relief injections to help keep him comfortable. He currently shows no obvious signs of pain and doesn't have an obviously painful gait, but we want to be proactive about his comfort and quality of life. His future family should be prepared to discuss his ongoing care with their veterinarian. 💔 He's already been let down once. Let's make sure it never happens again.
