Story
My name is Leo and I`m looking for my new home! I am an all around great boy who would make any family happy. Please come meet me today!Leo went on an ExPAWdition, let’s read all about it:“ Leo and I decided we`d hang out together on a beautiful summer morning and afternoon on an expawdition to the Nolan Trail at Mariner`s Park in Newport News. He jumped right in the car and settled in the backseat after a couple of minutes, ready and eager to begin our adventure. As you can see from the pics, Leo is an eager and high-energy hiking partner. He pulled on his leash during our walk and didn`t slow down until we had walked for a bit. Leo was very curious, sniffing the trail and eager to make friends with the squirrels he met along the way. Leo was friendly and curious towards other dogs we crossed on the trail. As you can see, Leo was always investigating his surroundings to see what was going on. We enjoyed water and snack breaks along the way...even considering Leo`s eagerness to take treats, he gingerly lifted those goodies from my fingers every time. Leo absolutely enjoyed our trail walk and explorations. After we walked along the Nolan Trail and the recently constructed boardwalk along the James River and then paid our respects to the Lions on the Bridge, Leo and I drove directly to the Chik-Fil-A near the CNU campus. After picking up his munchies, we drove to the Ferguson Center and set-up our private picnic area. Leo enjoyed his nuggets and meticulously lifted them from my fingers. He made sure to save room for his frozen custard dessert which went down nice and easy on this warm day. Leo is a rock star…a friendly, and engaging pup. He has lots of energy when he gets excited, but nothing a fenced in backyard (for him to romp in) and a little training wouldn`t correct. Leo is always eager to embrace an adventure, walks, and companionship. He responds to the `sit` command. Most importantly, he`s excited to find his own forever mom/dad and home. Leo is an Alaskan Husky mix and just over one year old. He`s been at the shelter since May. Leo has all his vaccinations and is microchipped. He is housebroken as well. Leo is friendly with children, but has a bit too much energy for those younger than ten or so. However, PRAS recommends a family meet and greet session (to include resident family dog(s)) to make sure Leo and your family are the right fit. Stop by the Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter right away to meet and dis
