Story
Meet Bandit — A Smart, Spirited Little Dog Looking for the Right Match Bandit is a neutered male Pug/Chihuahua mix with a big personality, a sharp mind, and a lot of potential in the right environment. He’s still very young, and like many smallbreed mixes, he has some behaviors that need structure, patience, and a home that understands his boundaries. What Bandit Does Well Housebroken — He generally keeps himself clean, especially when someone is home. Affectionate With His People — He bonds strongly and wants to be near his trusted humans. Smart & Observant — He watches everything and learns routines quickly. Submissive Urination — This is fearbased, not defiance, and often improves with confidence-building. Bandit is the kind of dog who thrives when someone invests in him. He wants to be good — he just needs help navigating the world. What He’s Working On Resource Guarding (food & toys) — He can get protective of things he values. Door Bolting — He’s quick and curious, so secure entryways are important. Barking — Especially when anxious or crated. Separation Anxiety — He struggles when left alone for long periods and may try to escape his kennel.band Bandit needs a home with no other pets and no kids because he's scared of children.  He needs someone that is patient and has time to spend with him.   The suggested adoption donation for Bandit is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for theirpet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. ##2711093##

Story
Quite FRANK-ly, we think this is the best pug in rescue! He is a social butterfly and lets his pug nature shine through his panting smile, big smile and excited zoomies. Frank is estimated to be 1.5 years old, weighs 21 lbs. and has the perfect cinnamon roll tail! Frank's greatest love is to be around all people, other dogs, and children.  He has a typical super excited pug personality and would love to have a friend to play with and wear out that energy until he crashes on you for cuddles and snoozes. Did we say typical young pug! This fun boy is looking for his forever home and shadow....yes he will go wherever you go and gladly nap where you decide to sit. This cutie is crate trained, sleeps all night in it, and is also potty trained! Frank loves to please and is very smart. He knows how to sit and will happily do this on car rides.  Sadly, Frank started out alone as a stray on a rural road and no one ever came to claim him. However, once in rescue he quickly discovered that life is all about fun, love, safety and bringing joy to his people! He would love to find a forever home where he can get all the attention he deserves and he will bring thousands of smiles and laughs to you in return! *Note Frank is recovering from an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) and is doing fantastic and ready to find his forever home. No complications are expected from this surgery so don't wait any longer to add Pug Love into your life by applying at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org ADOPTION DONATION: $500 *ALL DOGS MUST BE INSIDE COMPANION ANIMALS! They must all be trained with positive reward based training and all are up to date with vaccinations, altered, microchipped, HeartWorm tested, and on preventatives.       PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! May 1, 2026, 2:46 am
