Story
Annie is a 10-year-old, 29-pound Pug mix with a whole lot of personality packed into one adorable little body. She loves people, loves attention, and truly just wants to be wherever her humans are. If you are watching TV, Annie would like to be sitting beside you. If you are going to bed, Annie plans to join you there too. At night she happily jumps into bed, snuggles up close, sleeps through the night, and won’t even think about getting up before her people do. Annie is playful and would enjoy another friendly, playful dog in her new home. She doesn’t hear very well, although it actually took over a week for her foster family to realize it because she watches her people so closely and pays such careful attention to everything around her. Because of her hearing loss, a physically fenced yard is required to help keep her safe. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys going out and about with her people. Annie is generally very quiet and rarely barks, but when her humans come home, she gives the cutest little “awooo” greetings to let everyone know exactly how happy she is to see them again. Annie is not a fan of thunderstorms and stays especially close during bad weather. If a storm rolls through at night, she will disappear under the covers until the scary noises pass. Like many senior dogs, Annie has a few little old lady bumps. Her veterinarian has checked them, and they are lipomas, which are common benign fatty lumps in older dogs. Annie is looking for a home where someone is around often, cuddles are plentiful, and she never has to wonder whether she belongs. She has already perfected the art of companionship and is ready to spend her senior years loving her people with her whole heart. Annie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped. If you’d like to meet Annie, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Annie you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption Fee: $300

Story
Aurora may be a mixed breed of just about everything (and honestly, it shows in the best way), but what she’s made of most is pure sweetness. With her goofy charm, signature underbite, and expressive personality, Aurora has a way of making everyone around her smile almost instantly. She’s a happy, energetic girl who gets excited about life—especially breakfast time. Aurora is very enthusiastic when meals are involved, and her joy is absolutely contagious. When she’s extra happy, she’ll even do an adorable little spin just for you, like her own personal celebration dance.Aurora is also incredibly affectionate and thrives on attention, pets, and being part of the fun. She has a beautiful soft coat and a gentle heart to match, making cuddle time just as enjoyable as playtime. And when it’s time to get moving? Aurora is impressively athletic. She’s a super-fast runner and can jump remarkably high, always ready to zoom around and show off her skills.Despite all that energy, she’s also a wonderful dog to walk on leash and enjoys spending time connected with her people. Aurora is the perfect mix of goofy, loving, active, and loyal. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and love you with her whole heart, Aurora is ready to shine bright in your life. Our dog adoption fee is $150 and includes their spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, age-appropriate vaccinations, and preventatives. You can find our adoption questionnaire at agcshelter.org/adopt-1 or stop in to meet all of our adoptable pets Tuesday–Saturday from 1pm–4pm. No appointment required! Story
Otis was adopted as a puppy from a local family in Riverside 6 years ago. Otis has been through different phases of life and has adopted well. Went from being a second pet to by himself due to his brother passing away from age. Went from two loving parents to a full family of five. As he has done well going through the changes, the family has not. With unexpected changes, the family is unable to give the love and attention that Otis deserves. He used to go for sprint runs, long walks and dog parks, to even cuddling on the couch for long hours on movie nights. No matter the mood, Otis adapts to the activities the family wants to do. Otis needs a home that has time to give him all the love and attention that he deserves. Otis is currently in a home with three children but has been the only pet for the past 5 years. He has had interactions with cats and dogs and has gotten along, he can just be shy at first. Otis really enjoys all humans and is always excited for new friends.

Story
Meet Bandit — A Smart, Spirited Little Dog Looking for the Right Match Bandit is a neutered male Pug/Chihuahua mix with a big personality, a sharp mind, and a lot of potential in the right environment. He’s still very young, and like many smallbreed mixes, he has some behaviors that need structure, patience, and a home that understands his boundaries. What Bandit Does Well Housebroken — He generally keeps himself clean, especially when someone is home. Affectionate With His People — He bonds strongly and wants to be near his trusted humans. Smart & Observant — He watches everything and learns routines quickly. Submissive Urination — This is fearbased, not defiance, and often improves with confidence-building. Bandit is the kind of dog who thrives when someone invests in him. He wants to be good — he just needs help navigating the world. What He’s Working On Resource Guarding (food & toys) — He can get protective of things he values. Door Bolting — He’s quick and curious, so secure entryways are important. Barking — Especially when anxious or crated. Separation Anxiety — He struggles when left alone for long periods and may try to escape his kennel.band Bandit needs a home with no other pets and no kids because he's scared of children.  He needs someone that is patient and has time to spend with him.   The suggested adoption donation for Bandit is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for theirpet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. ##2711093##

HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet him, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Sweet, energetic, happy-go-lucky guy - LOVES chest and belly rubs and will complain if you stop petting him!- Bonded quickly with his foster dad and seeks him out for love - You can't help but fall in love with his scruffy gremlin face and underbite - Walks pretty well with a leash and harness - Has been potty trained in his foster home with only a few accidents at first; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended) - Can be an introvert around some dogs, but enjoys like-minded dog friends and really wants to play; the resident dog in his foster home isn't interested in him, and he has respected that dog's preferences, but he may love a playmate in his new home (dog intro recommended) - We don't know his history with cats This pet is considered to be in their senior years and may enjoy calmer activities and environments. They may also have medical or behavior needs related to their age. Click here for tips for making a comfortable life for senior pets. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Weight: 30.5 Age: 12yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Hi! I’m Baby Ray — a cute, sweet, and slightly chaotic little guy looking for my forever home! I’m currently about 15 lbs and will most likely be around 25 lbs full grown, which makes me the perfect medium-sized adventure buddy. My favorite hobbies include collecting sticks like tiny treasures, lovingly destroying stuffies, and showing off my Olympic-level zoomies in the yard. Seriously… I’m FAST. Blink and you might miss me! I’m playful, goofy, and always ready to make you laugh. After I’m done zooming around, I’m happy to hang out and soak up all the love and attention I can get. I’ve already started crate training and I’m doing really well with potty training too — pretty impressive for a puppy if you ask me! ⭐ If you’re looking for a fun, happy, slightly silly best friend, I’m your boy! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
