Story
We adopted Stevie from out of state about 6 months ago. We love the girl, but unfortunately an older dog we have had for many years has been aggressive with her. He is much bigger and stronger than her, and we don’t feel it is safe for her. She is a sweet girl with the cutest underbite and is full of love. She does get along very well with cats, dogs and children. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for our older boy.

Story
- Zeus is a super sweet little ball of energy looking for a forever home with patience and a sense of humor!- Was surrendered to the Berkshire Humane Society because his family didn`t have enough time for him - Need work on basic obedience training, has never had formal training before- Has a lot of energy and loves to play! - Would do best in a home with someone who is willing to meet his moderate exercise needs. He is not a couch potato.- SO friendly with everyone he meets!- Should go onto a diet and exercise regimen in his new home to help him lose a few pounds- Loves to go out on walks and sniff every blade of grass. He will leave no scent un-snooffed!- Has been house trained here in the kennel environment with a consistent walking schedule- Can be a bit excited about his toys and food, so a home with kids 8yrs+ would be most appropriate Weight: 36 lbs. Cats: Unknown - pending a cat testDogs: Seems to like them, ask staff about a dog introductionKids: 8 years and olderIf you are interested in more information about Zeus or how to go about adopting him, please call (413) 447-7878 ext.126 to speak with kennel staff!-

Story
Meet Shania! Weight: 10 lbs | Breed: Mixed Breed | Status: Adorable, Loving, Fully Healed & Ready for Adoption. Shania is an adorable 10-pound survivor with a heart of gold. Despite a difficult past—rescued over a year ago with severe chemical burns and a cautious spirit— but Thankfully with the help of her foster family & foster pet siblings she has made a breathtaking transformation. Today, Shania is fully healed, adored, and thriving in her foster home, and easily one of the most positive, well-adjusted dogs we have ever met. You would never know what she’s been through by looking at her bright, loving energy and eager to please disposition. Shania gets along wonderfully with both two-legged and four-legged friends. She is crate-trained, remarkably well-mannered, and endlessly loyal. Once you’ve earned her trust, she will happily shower you with gentle kisses, cuddle up for snuggle sessions, join you on walks, and happily play games of fetch. Whatever you’re doing, Shania is just thrilled to be by your side doing it with you. —- 🐾We Love Shania — A Tiny Mix Breed With a Huge Heart! ❤️Shania is a beautiful, petite young girl who has already come a long way on her journey to a brighter future. Little Shania was rescued by Canine Protection League at the eleventh hour from an overcrowded southern kill shelter where she was about to be euthanized due to overcrowding. We found out she’d survived significant cruelty, abuse, and neglect, and knew right then we’d save her and make sure she had a much better life than she’d ever imagined. We have provided her Rescue, TLC, spay, vaccines, medical care for her chemical burns/wounds, and given her guidance, training, socialization, and lots of love - She has done very well in her foster home with people and dogs of all sizes. Shania loves walks and play dates with volunteers and her foster siblings, Shania has made an extraordinary transformation although areas of her fur may never fully grow back, from the cruel chemical burns she endured before rescue that doesn’t stop her from living life of enthusiasm, companionship, love, and joy. She’s truly blossomed into her best self with the care and kindness of her devoted foster family, she is an affectionate little sweetheart who loves life, enjoys snuggling in your lap, giving gentle kisses, and soaking up all the attention she can get.She is crate-trained, doing very well with her housebreaking routine, and continues to learn quickly. Shania has a bright spirit, a soft heart, and so much love to give to the right family. 🏡 Adoption Process To adopt, you must be Over 21 years old and be a full time resident of Vermont or nearby area.
