Story
Meet Dustin! A happy, prancing little gentleman with the biggest smile, the sweetest heart, and a spirit that refuses to be anything but joyful. Name: Dustin Age: 2 years old Weight: 34 lbs Color: Black and white Breed: Boston Bully Neutered: Yes Vaccines: Up to date Prevention: Current on preventionDustin came to us as an owner surrender after being attacked by a much larger pit bull. He arrived with several bite wounds, but those wounds have healed, and somehow, through everything he endured, Dustin has remained one of the happiest, most grateful boys you will ever meet.It is truly remarkable how much joy this little guy carries. Personality: Dustin always seems to have a smile on his face. He is just happy to be alive, happy to be loved, and happy to be part of the day. It is hard to be unhappy around him. He prances when he walks like he is just so sure of himself, and his cheerful little spirit is absolutely contagious.  He is in a foster home with teenagers. Dog Friendly: Dustin is gentle and amazing with all dogs, even pits. He loves playing with other dogs and has such a sweet, social nature. He is also protective in the most remarkable way — if he feels there may be a threat between two dogs or even people, he will put himself in between them. He does not look to engage, but he will stand there as if to say, “That is enough.” He is truly a little gentleman. Playtime: Dustin loves playing ball and having fun with his dog friends. He has that classic Boston Terrier “I don’t quit” spirit, so monitoring his heat level is very important, especially because he is stub-nosed. If water is available, Dustin will happily cool himself off by taking a little dip. Crate Life: Dustin is amazing in his crate and extremely clean. He is crated at night and during the day as needed without issue, and he does wonderfully with the routine. Leash Skills: Dustin is great on a leash and enjoys getting out for walks. Cats: Dustin will chase cats, not with the intent to harm, but because he thinks it is a fun game. Mealtime: Dustin has been on Purina dog food and has done well. He also does well eating in a group and often stands back to make sure everyone else gets food before he eats. True gentleman behavior. Cuddle Time: As happy and playful as Dustin is, he also loves a good cuddle on the couch. He will gladly offer his belly for rubs every single time.Dustin is a joyful, resilient, loving little soul who has every reason to be scared of the world but chooses happiness instead. He is sweet, funny, brave, gentle, and full of life. Dustin is ready for a forever family who will love his big personality, protect him from the heat, throw the ball, share the couch, and let him keep smiling his way through life. Fill out an adoption application to have him join your family.  His $450 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, neuter, heartworm treatments, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2685677##
