Meet Clara! 🐾💕
An affectionate little Pug with a big personality and plenty of love to give!
Meet Clara, an adorable approximately 1-year-old Pug with a sweet personality, charming appearance, and all the lovable quirks that make this breed so special!
Clara originally entered Cactus Ranch Rescue as a young dog and was adopted into a home. Unfortunately, she recently returned to our care and is once again searching for a family who will love and cherish her for life.
Clara is a loving, affectionate girl who enjoys spending time with her people. She has previously lived with children and cats and has done well with both!
She also has some wonderful household manners already established. Clara is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash! These are fantastic foundations that will help make her transition into a new home easier.
Like many young dogs, Clara is still developing her social skills and learning appropriate boundaries. One important behavior her future family should understand is that she can display resource guarding around high-value treats and toys, particularly in situations involving other dogs.
Because of this, Clara will benefit from a family willing to manage valuable resources carefully, provide appropriate supervision, and continue positive reinforcement training.
Clara previously lived with her sister Gertrude, but the two developed disagreements, and we believe they will be happiest in separate homes.

Clara’s Ideal Forever Home
Clara would thrive in a loving, stable household that appreciates her affectionate personality while understanding the importance of structure, consistency, and appropriate boundaries.
Her ideal family will be comfortable implementing simple management strategies to prevent resource-related conflicts, including feeding dogs separately and avoiding shared access to high-value treats or toys.
Although Clara has done well with children and cats, all interactions should be appropriately supervised. If her future family has another dog, a carefully managed introduction and a compatible temperament will be important.
Clara could also be a wonderful choice for a household where she can enjoy being the center of attention as an only dog.
Her adopters should be committed to continuing positive reinforcement training and helping her settle comfortably into her new routine.
Clara is still a young dog with many wonderful years ahead of her. Her previous adoption did not work out, but that does not mean she cannot be an incredible companion in the right environment.
Clara doesn’t need a perfect home. She needs a committed family who understands her personality, respects her boundaries, and will love her for the rest of her life. ❤️
