Story
Meet Heather! Breed: Pug DOB: 8/9/2025 Weight: 5 lbs Health: Healthy, vaccinated, and full of puppy energy — but even though Heather is healthy, it’s always best to schedule a visit with your own veterinarian soon after adoption to establish care and ensure she’s thriving. Personality Heather is a tiny ball of joy wrapped in soft wrinkles and endless enthusiasm! She’s playful, curious, and loves to make everyone smile. Whether she’s chasing her favorite toy, learning new tricks, or curling up for snuggles, Heather fills every moment with happiness and love. Her cheerful, loving nature makes her the kind of companion that brightens even the cloudiest day. Breed Info Pugs are known for their affectionate and clownish personalities. They are people-oriented dogs who love attention, companionship, and being part of every family activity. Despite their small size, Pugs have big hearts and even bigger personalities! They thrive on love and do best in homes where they aren’t left alone for long stretches of time. Owner Responsibilities Bringing a puppy like Heather into your home means embracing the full responsibility of raising and loving her for life. She’ll need: Patience and consistency for potty training, socializing, and learning boundaries. Regular vet visits for wellness checks, vaccinations, and preventive care. Daily structure for feeding, playtime, and rest. Positive reinforcement and gentle correction as she learns. A safe environment — Pugs can be sensitive to heat and need indoor comfort. Things to Consider Before adopting Heather, take time to honestly reflect on your lifestyle and readiness. Do you have time each day for walks, play, and training? Is your housing or landlord pet-friendly? Are you planning to move or travel frequently? Puppies can bark, chew, and test boundaries — are you ready for puppy stages? Can you commit to vet care, food, grooming, and love for her lifetime? Are you emotionally ready for the responsibility and joy of a long-term family member? Adopting a puppy is a big, beautiful commitment — not a temporary one. The 3-3-3 Rule The first 3 days are for decompressing — everything is new, so give her gentle space, comfort, and calm. The first 3 weeks are when she’ll start learning your routine, your home, and your heart. The first 3 months are when trust blossoms, and she’ll know she’s finally home. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Commitment for Life Heather isn’t just a pet — she’s family. She’ll rely on you for safety, care, and unconditional love every day of her life. In return, she’ll give you joy, loyalty, and companionship beyond measure. Why Heather Would Be a Great Addition Heather is the perfect mix of sweetness and playfulness — small enough to snuggle in your lap, but full of enough spirit to make every day brighter. She’ll grow up beside you, learning, loving, and filling your world with laughter and affection. Adopting Heather means saying yes to a lifetime of smiles, paw prints, and love that never fades.   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Laura has a calm, loving energy that balances perfectly with her playful puppy spirit. She’s curious, gentle, and happiest when she’s near her humans. Breed Info Pugs are affectionate, charming dogs who live to please their families. Their small size makes them ideal for apartment or home living, but they do need daily walks and love being included in family activities. Owner Responsibilities & Things to Consider Puppies are wonderful — and wonderfully demanding. Lyra will need structure, positive training, and lots of patience as she learns the ropes. Be ready for teething, puppy energy, and a lifelong friend who depends on you. Always make sure your housing allows pets, and that your lifestyle fits the time and care a puppy requires. Vet Care Even though your new dog or puppy is healthy and up to date on vaccinations, it’s always important to schedule a visit with your own veterinarian soon after adoption. Muck – Male Pug Puppy Age: Puppy DOB: 08/25/2025  Weight: Growing – currently around 5 pounds Health: Healthy, vaccinated, and ready for his forever family Meet Muck, the little charmer with a heart as big as his round puppy eyes! This roly-poly bundle of joy is curious, funny, and absolutely full of life. Muck loves everyone he meets and greets each day like it’s the best day ever. He’s playful, cuddly, and already showing that classic Pug personality — loyal, a little bit goofy, and completely irresistible. Breed Info: Pugs are known for their clownish charm, loyalty, and love of human companionship. They’re small but mighty in spirit, typically reaching 14–18 pounds when full grown. Pugs are wonderful family companions who thrive on affection and do best indoors as part of everyday life. Their adorable wrinkly faces and big personalities make them one of the most lovable breeds around. Owner Responsibilities & Things to Consider: Adopting a puppy like Muck means more than cuddles — it’s a commitment to teaching, training, and guiding a young dog through life. Expect potty training, teething, chewing, and learning basic manners. Muck will look to you for patience and gentle structure as he grows. Give Muck that time, and he’ll reward you with endless love and loyalty. Commitment for Life: Muck isn’t just a puppy for now — he’s a friend for life. Story
Ladies, do you want a reason to need to keep your nails done? Meet Cedric, he melts for back scratches and practically has an out of body experience if the one giving the scratches has strong, healthy nails. He may not be able to pay for them but he will always admire and appreciate them. In return for the backcscrathes he has snuggles, sweet kisses, and short walks to offer. And how could I forget- allll that charm! See for yourself- https://youtu.be/bBvu3Ah-AaE We estimate Cedric is 3 years old and is likely a bulldog mix. He currently weighs 44 lbs and we expect he will settle in just shy of 50 lbs. Given he is a rescue breed and age are details we cannot guarantee but you can take a survey on breed guesses, you will get a lot of bulldog responses and not from just looks alone. His charming personality gives us so many classic bulldog qualities, from his easy-going, unbothered nature to his approach to urgency- there is none. It would be best to rely on him for couch cuddles, giggle-inducing entertainment, and a few new friends (he attracts people like a magnet.) Cedric isn’t pushy about meeting passers by but he is albsolutely welcoming when they want to stop and say hi to him. We love the balance of “never met a stranger” but not overwhelmingly out-going. Basically, he plays it cool. An ideal home for Cedric would be one where his chill nature is embraced! Dogs are welcome but he could easily and happily be an only-dog. Anytime he has been introduced to new dogs or invited into the yard to play, he is polite and aloof. More of a companion than a playmate. Despite that we do think he would be best in a home with a yard, he really enjoys sauntering around the yard and its pretty cute to watch. This likely won’t come as a shock but its worth saying- Cedric is not interested in long, outdoor adventures, he considers himself the indoors-type. You understand. Kids are welcome in Cedrics world, he loves mini-people and they think he is pretty cute. If you love the bully qualities and can embrace them, Cedric is ready to come home, chill-vibes included Questions? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! GIVE ME A SLICE OF THAT MEATLOAF! With a name fitting of his personality, meet Meatloaf! A chunky good ol’ boy who specializes in eating, sleeping, and tooting. LOL. He rocks a onesie like no other and is ready for his forever family! We believe Meatloaf is about 5 years old and weighs approximately 44 lbs. Despite his bulldog-like looks, we cannot guarantee breed or age given he is a rescue. But I am sure you can agree, Meatloaf has some bulldog in him. Watch Meatloaf here:https://youtu.be/vHUEv3XU5FM Meatloaf is a stout boy and unphased by most things. He currently is being fostered in a home with 6 other dogs weighing over 70 pounds and has not a care in the world. He is only concerned about what spot he gets to sleep in and what time dinner is! He would do well in a home with other dogs but would not offer much more than a body to cuddle with. He honestly would be great as a solo dog as well! If you offer him a treat and a space to sleep beside you, he is the happiest boy in the whole world! The only time I saw Meatloaf get slightly energized was when he met our housecat, Biggie. Meatloaf looked very ready to chase Biggie even though it was highly likely he would not get the chance because his speed only goes to .5 mph lol. Due to his peaked interest though, we are recommending that Meatloaf be in a home with no cats in order to keep the peace of the home. He hasn’t been around kids but we are happy to watch how he interacts around any aged kid that is in your home! We want to make sure that he is the perfect boy for you! Although a yard will be loved, Meatloaf could live in an apartment as long as stairs were not a regular element of his “commute.” It will be no surprise but he is not built for physically strenuous activities like flights of stairs or walks. Short walks are fine but long ones are not ideal. A single story apartment, one with an elevator, and nearby parking is definitely a possibility though! So why choose Meatloaf over the dozens of other bulldogs out there? Easy. He won’t just steal your heart, he’ll probably steal your spot on the couch, your last bite of sandwich, and become the most beloved part of your daily routine. Adopt Meatloaf and gain a best friend, a snoring soundtrack, and a loyal sidekick who’s always down for a snack and a snuggle. Because let’s be honest... meatloaf is always a good idea! Apply below to make Meatloaf your new best friend! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/68375574c57d20535e0359db Questions? Mabel is a certified people-dog who has mastered the art of chill! She leans in for affection, rolls over for belly rubs, loves being loved on, and is happiest just being near her people. Sprinkle in some sweet talk and this girls heart is yours! Take a look at her in action then come back to read more! https://youtu.be/JwrhWHdKRwk Mabel is a rescue so breed and birthday are details we cannot guarantee. With that said we estimate her to be 3 years old, she weighs 49 lbs and is likely an English Bulldog/American Bully mix. Thanks to Mabel’s foster we can share that she is a dream guest- fully house and crate trained, quiet, and an all-star sleeper day or night. Dog-wise, Mabel is more of a “coexist” than “let’s play” kind of girl. She was relaxed and unbothered during off-leash time with other dogs, not reactive at all even when other dogs were being too much, she was perfectly happy just doing her own thing. She showed a little interest in playing with an 8-month-old puppy, but when he lost interest, so did she. She’s best matched with a low to medium energy dog who won’t push her to engage or crowd her space. Mabel will need a cat-free home. When she met our home cat it was easy to see an uninvited game of chase cross her mind. That would be chaos for everyone involved. Apartment life? Yes, please. Mabel doesn’t need a ton of exercise—just short walks and time to chill inside with her humans. She walks beautifully on leash—right by your side, no pulling, no drama—and she makes a stroll feel like therapy- she just keeps her sessions short. As a smush-faced queen, she’s sensitive to heat and has zero interest in miles or marathons. But if you're looking for a couch-to-curb companion with two modes- love and lounging, Mabel’s your girl.
