Story
Found strutting through a Winn-Dixie parking lot like he owned the place, Bean Pie was adopted and sadly recently returned due to his adopter facing multiple upcoming surgeries and no longer being able to keep up with this quirky little character. Now he’s a sturdy 45 lbs of attitude, adventure, and affection all rolled into one compact pup. He’s part lizard hunter, part cuddle bug—and 100% entertaining. Bean Pie loves car rides, gnawing on his favorite bone, and soaking up affection. He has big feelings about trucks (barking is his preferred language), and while he enjoys outings, leash manners are still a work in progress. He’s used to having free roam of the house and usually naps when left alone. At night, he settles into his bed or the coziest corner he can find. Just keep an eye on the door—this clever boy won’t miss an open opportunity. Bean Pie is dog-selective and would do best as your one-and-only or with a dog his own size. No small animals or kids, please—he can get mouthy when overexcited, so a calm, experienced adult home is where he’ll thrive.Bean Pie does have a partial cruciate ligament tear, which means he may occasionally limp if he overdoes it on activity. In a home environment, this may be very manageable with conservative care—taking things easy, limiting high-impact activity, and using over-the-counter pain management as needed. That said, we want what’s best for him long-term. We are happy to send Bean Pie home as a foster-to-adopt, and if surgery ultimately becomes necessary, H.A.L.O. would cover the cost, as long as the adopter is willing to handle the post-surgery recovery and care.If you’re looking for a big personality in a compact body and don’t mind helping him take life a little slower, Bean Pie might be your perfect slice. 🐾🍰Requirements: Martingale Collar; Dog Selective; Calm Children 16+; Foster-To-Adopt (Knee Injury)All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
Meet Marco! 🐾Marco is a 3-year-old Chihuahua/Fox Terrier mix with a compact build and a charming personality to match. He came to us as a transfer from another shelter along with his friends Moxie and Lottie. While the three arrived together and are comfortable with one another, Marco can be adopted either together or separately — whatever best suits his future family.Like his pals, Marco’s past is a bit of a mystery, as he was originally found as a stray. What we do know is that he’s a sweet, friendly little guy who’s ready to start his next chapter. He has that classic terrier spark paired with chihuahua charm, making him an engaging and affectionate companion.Marco would do well in a home that’s ready to help him settle into a routine and continue working on basic training and confidence-building. If you’re looking for a small dog with a big heart and lots of potential, Marco may be just the one you’ve been waiting for. 💛Requirements: Martingale Collar; $450 as a single / $600 as a pair / $750 as a trio! All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.
