Story
Lola is living in a foster home in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Lola is a 9-year-old sweetheart who’s ready to settle into a calm, loving home where she can soak up all the attention she deserves. She currently lives with two other dogs and does wonderfully with them indoors. Lola is fully housetrained and welcomes new people with a happy, wagging tail—she especially enjoyed all the extra visitors and affection during the holidays! Lola was surrendered due to a change in her family’s work schedule, not through any fault of her own. She’s a laid-back girl who would thrive in a relaxed home, who either has a fenced yard or a family committed to regular walks to help her health. Lola is working on a gradual weight-loss journey, so she’ll need someone who can help her stay active and stick to healthy, portioned meals. Since she’s very food-motivated, structure and exercise will be key to her success. One of Lola’s favorite party tricks is catching treats (but please limit them) tossed gently into the air—she’s always so proud to show it off! With her sweet personality, Lola is ready to be someone’s loyal, loving best friend. Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Meet Gigi. She went into foster when she came to us. This is her foster moms input on Gigi.Gigi is such a great dog! She is very sweet, cuddly, happy (her tail is always wagging), likes to get petted and will nudge your hand to let you know when she wants more. She loves to be near her person and would do best with a family that can spend a lot of time with her. Although she can be nervous and shy with new people and places, giving her patience and reassurance helps her work through it. Gigi is crate trained, likes to sit on my lap and get brushed (I call it her “Spa Time”) and she is excellent at going potty outside. She is not a fan of the cold weather, but does like to wear a nice, warm coat to make it more tolerable. This girl loves food and has no problem eating her meals. Her food bowl is licked clean every time! She also likes to use a lick mat (with peanut butter) and a snuffle mat with some kibble once in a while as a fun activity. One of her other favorite things is napping on a comfy dog bed with some blankets. Occasionally, she brings her stuffed toys to her bed and cuddles with them. It’s too cute! (Sometimes, she even brings her food bowl to her bed when she is done eating. Like I said, she loves food!) Gigi also dances when she gets excited, lays on her back when she wants those all-important belly rubs and is a cozy couch potato.D.O.B: 10-4-21
