Story
Lalo is a Chihuahua, born August 2022.  He is leash trained and enjoys being active.  He will need a fenced yard with room to explore.  Lalo is working on potty training with his foster mom.  The cold and snowy days are tough for a little guy like Lalo, but he is making progress!  Lalo is recommended for children 12 and up.  Lalo gets along with other dogs, but prefers to be an only dog.  He gets along with his foster's cat, but will chase at times.  He is full of personality and a great dog.  His favorite thing is sitting on his person's lap.   Lalo's special requests are to be with a family who can provide him with the love, attention and care that he deserves.  Can you be the one for Lalo? **Lalo was recently diagnosed with petit mal seizure disorder and requires an inexpensive drug daily to regulate. The suggested adoption donation for Lalo is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2486442##

Story
FOSTERED IN SIOUX CITY Name- Izzy (male) Age- 1 yr Breed- French Bulldog What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I was sold as a puppy, but my parents couldn’t continue to afford my care so I was surrendered back to my original Breeder who donated me to the nice people at the rescue to find my perfect home. Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? Mom! Are you good with kids? What age ranges? Loves kids! Been around 3 and up. Good with them all. Are you good with other dogs? Be VERY specific here Have had no issues with other dogs and love to play, but I do Chase Chickens Are you good with cats? Yep Are you housebroken? What is your current potty routine? Working on it. Doing very well as long as he is out regularly! Do you like car rides? I haven’t been on many, so I’m still learning but I’m pretty good. Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? Working on it. Does well with harness and collar scared of the leash. Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? Loves balls of any size! Do you know any commands/tricks? Not quite yet but I’m eager to learn! How are your house manners? I am gentleman in the home. I always want to love and cuddle. Describe your personality - i’m a very typical Frenchie. I am as sweet as can be and I’m always searching for the next person to pet me. I want all the loves all the time! ! Describe your perfect home- I would love a home where there are kids and maybe another fur sibling to play with. I definitely need a lot of snuggles and attention so somebody who is not gone long hours. Also, somebody who understands the needs of French bulldogs would be great otherwise I’m a happy well adjusted loving boy!
