Story
Here comes Shorty (b 7/2009) a Chihuahua. Shorty has had a rough life.  Muddy Paws took him when he had an accident that broke his leg.  We are accepting applications to adopt Shorty but he will need to be in his cast/bandage and have vet appointments until around 9/14/2023.  His injury has not slowed him down much.  He is ready for a new home that he can get all the love and attention he wants and deserves.  The suggested adoption donation for Shorty is $265, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $300,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1784532##

Luke (b. 1/2017) is a loyal, protective and loving boy. He has high energy.  He barks when he meets new people but warms up quickly and calms down.  He might do well with another dog in the home but would need to have a couple slow introductions.  He loves belly rubs and being close to his people.  If you think Luke is a perfect guy for you, please apply to adopt.  The suggested adoption donation for Luke is $265, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
Chewy (b. 12/2011) a Chihuahua mix.  Chewy would like a home with a fenced in yard so he can run around, explore and soak up the sun.  He likes to play fetch with his chew toy.  He gets along with cats.  He is good around older children; younger ones don’t always show him the respect he deserves.  Can you give this sweet guy his furever home? The suggested adoption donation for Chewy is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time-to-time owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. Chip (b 7/2021) a Chihuahua. Chip is a laid-back guy that is looking for a place to exercise and have a consistent schedule.  Chip loves other dogs and would do great in a home with another fur sibling.  He is house trained but does mark but we are working on it. His nickname with his foster due to his "little dog syndrome" (he thinks he is the biggest, baddest boy on the block) is El Chapo. He takes a little bit to warm up to people but once he does, he will be on your lap, giving you kisses.  He is very curious and very goofy. The suggested adoption donation for Chip is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Luna (b. 9/2022) a Chihuahua.  Luna is the sweetest little gal.  She is shy with new people but once she knows you, she will be your best friend.  Once she trusts you, she will love to get all the attention from you.  She would not do well in an apartment because she likes to bark at all the noises.  She needs a home with no children, they move to fast for her and she does not trust them.  Can you give Luna the furever home that she deserves? Story
Sugar is a sweet 11yr old Chihuahua mix who is looking for a home to spend the rest of her golden years in. Sugar is the perfect lap dog and enjoys her time in a comfy bed! She loves going on easy walks around the block but sometimes wears out after awhile. Sugar would be best in a low traffic home and with older dogs her size. The adoption fee is $200 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##1949608##

Story
Humberto is a 7 year-old Chihuahua mix who is a often misunderstood potato. He loves walks and cuddles and just hanging out with you! Humberto LOVES his stuff and can get a bit spicy when you try to take things from him. Patience and trust are needed when in his space. Humberto is not too sure of dogs and cats and doesn't trust strangers when he first meets them. He can get a bit mouthy and loud but he means well. Humberto would do best in a home with a family that has older children and will help Humberto with his weight loss and his resource guarding.  The adoption fee is $250 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Noel is a happy, little Chihuahua/MinPin mix, born 11/15/2023. Lap dog describes her perfectly.  She enjoys fetch and falling alsleep in your lap.  She loves to follow humans around but also learning how much fun playing with other dogs can be and occupying herself with toys.  Noel is learning about independence after all her littermates have been adopted so she like to sing a little opera to keep herself entertained when alone. Her potential family will need to have the time and patience to help her navigate life without her siblings.   The suggested adoption fee for Noel is $415.  Bullies-N-Beyond is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption donation fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR will have been administered their age appropriate vaccines which may include DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Libby arrived in rescue with her father, Barney Rubble, when their owner unexpectedly passed away. The family was able to make arrangements for the other animals but felt it best that Libby and Barney enter rescue. Libby is a cautiously optimistic gal who will bond quickly to her humans, once she determines you are trustworth. She is a happy, tiny girl who loves to snuggle and lives peacefully with other dogs....just don't ask her to share her food! She is crate trained and house trained......leash manners will come with practice once she is more confident of her surroundings. Libby could live as an only dog if there was someone home most of the day. Applicants with a securely fenced yard will be given priority. Children over age 10, please. The suggested adoption donation for Libby is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Skeeter is a one-year-old femaleChihuahua who loves to play with all the resident dogs and toys. In fact, she will coax you to play even if you’re not all that interested. She is still working on potty training and what is appropriate for dogs to chew on (after all she is a puppy)! A resident dog or two is a must! She goes in her kennel when she sees us getting ready to go out. She does prefer to cuddle in foster Moms’ arms at night. Skeeter is very timid around new people and it will take time to warm up but the wait will be worth it. Sophia "Skeeter" is a young female Chihuahua mix that found herself in Animal Control. When her family didn't come to claim her, she entered rescue and the welcoming arms of her foster family. Skeeter is shy of strangers and new environments but once you earn her trust, she is a total love-bug. Skeeter will need a patient adult-only family who will allow her to progress at her own pace, and a securely fenced yard (flight risk) with a resident canine companion. The suggested adoption donation for Skeeter is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Story
Meet Butters! He’s an adorable 6 month old, 6 lb Chihuahua mix. He has tons of love to give in a tiny package. Butters loves bouncing around, throwing his toys, and chewing on bones. His FAVORITE thing is getting snuggles from anyone and everyone, whether it be while he's chewing a bone or curled up sleeping. Butters is still learning his manners and what is okay to play with and what is not, but almost has the hang of it! He is also almost fully crate and potty pad trained but has few accidents every once in while. He came to us from Texas and is learning what it’s like to be a spoiled companion dog. Butters does well with other dogs and loves to wrestle with his small foster dog siblings. He would love a forever family of his own and he’d be the best snuggle buddy anyone could ask for! He is neutered, fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption! His adoption fee is: $375.   Applications for Butters can be filled out at https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! February 24, 2024, 4:52 pm
