I got Kona from the Humane Society on Macklind in St. Louis in June 2024. She was a stray and they gave her a birthday of November 28th, 2023. We did beginner dog obedience and followed up with the one on one in home training for 6 weeks. She did well in both. She is great with people but not as much with SOME other dogs. I live in an area that doesn’t allow fences and I feel it unfair to continually make her stay on leash for more training, or playing. She is also crate trained. I have an Optimum Wellness Plan for her needs.

She clearly knew love in her previous home, but after her owners were evicted, she suddenly found herself needing a safe place to land. Even with all the change, she remains incredibly sweet and trusting. Dove is about 2.5 years old, weighs 16 pounds, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She may be a tad shy when you first meet her, but it doesn’t take long before she’s leaning in for affection. We believe she’s house trained, too!
