Puggle puppies and dogs in Troy, Missouri

Meet Caramel Macchiato (Mac)! 🩵🐾 Location: Troy, Missouri Adoption Fee: $550 What do you get when you mix a Chihuahua and a Miniature Dachshund? A little guy who is SO DARN ADORABLE! 🥰 Meet Caramel Macchiato, or Mac for short, a sweet 3-month-old puppy who may be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly with love, snuggles, and a little time. At just 3.5 pounds, Mac is the smallest of the group, but don’t let his tiny size fool you! This little guy is full of playful energy and loves spending time with the other puppies. He enjoys toys, balls, and especially toys he can chew! A good game of chase or tug-of-war is right up his alley. 🩵🐾 Once Mac feels comfortable, his sweet personality begins to shine. He is looking for a family who will give him the patience, love, and guidance he needs to grow into a happy, confident companion. 🩵 Mac’s Medical & Wellness Information Mac has been fully vetted and is microchipped. Unfortunately, we did not receive vaccine records for him other than his rabies vaccination. He will need several additional vaccines to complete his puppy vaccine series and help keep him safe and protected. Leia’s Hope will continue to keep him up to date while he is in rescue. * 💙 Age: 3 months * 💙 Weight: 3.5 pounds at intake * 💙 Breed: Chihuahua / Miniature Dachshund mix * 💙 Vaccines: Rabies documented; additional puppy vaccines needed * 💙 Neuter: Not yet neutered due to his age and small size * 💙 Microchipped: Yes * 💙 Umbilical hernia: Noted during his veterinary examination; can be repaired when he is old enough for neuter surgery * 💙 Heartworm prevention: Will be starting monthly prevention and should continue throughout his life Because of Mac’s age and size, his adopter will be responsible for having his neuter procedure completed at the appropriate age. Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue will provide a credit directly to the adopter’s veterinarian to help with the cost of his neuter. 🩵 Nutrition & Digestive Health Mac’s gray and tan coat appears a bit sparse on intake, which we believe may be related to poor nutrition. He has been started on Nulo Puppy food, freeze-dried raw toppers, and healthy treats, and he is doing well with his new diet. All of the puppies arrived with Giardia and are currently more than halfway through their treatment. Thankfully, things are looking much better (if you know what I mean! 💩). We are also adding pumpkin daily and probiotics to help support their digestive health and get these sweet babies on the road to healthier systems. 🩵 Potty Training & Puppy Life Mac is a tiny puppy with a tiny bladder, which means potty training may take a little extra time, patience, and consistency. A regular potty schedule will be important as he learns. His family should plan to take him outside: 🐾 About every hour while awake 🐾 After eating and drinking 🐾 First thing in the morning 🐾 Last thing before bedtime Having another confident dog in the home may also help Mac learn and build confidence with potty training. Mac will need plenty of frequent nap times throughout the day to recharge his little batteries for his next play session! We recommend setting up a puppy pen as a safe and comfortable space where he can nap, eat, play, and sleep when his family is busy or unable to keep a close eye on him. 🩵 Small Body, Special Considerations Mac’s tiny size means he will need extra supervision and care in his new home. ⚠️ Trip hazard: Because Mac is so small, special attention should be used around children who are running and playing, as well as older adults or anyone with physical limitations. He could easily get underfoot. ⚠️ Back and joint protection: As part Dachshund, Mac’s family should take special care to protect his back and joints. We recommend researching both the Chihuahua and Dachshund breeds so you can better understand his needs and help keep him healthy for years to come. ⚠️ Furniture safety: Mac should be taught to use stairs or a ramp when getting on and off furniture, helping to reduce the risk of injury from jumping. Mac will benefit from a home that understands the responsibilities of raising a tiny puppy and is prepared to provide safe handling, supervision, training, and plenty of rest. 🩵 Is Mac Your Perfect Match? Overall, Mac is just a sweet little guy who would love a family and home of his very own! He may be tiny, but he has plenty of personality, playful energy, and love to give. With patience, guidance, and a whole lot of snuggles, we believe Mac has so much potential to grow into a wonderful little companion. 🥰 If you think Caramel Macchiato might be the perfect addition to your family, we would love for you to submit an application! ⸻ 🐾 Adoption Information Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue is a foster-based, volunteer-run rescue. Meet Latte! ☕️🐾💕 Location: Troy MO Adoption Fee: $550 This little girl just exudes love, cuddles, and pure Pug personality! She is ALL PUG—with the snorts, over-the-top playfulness, crazy zoomies, endless kisses, and her two speeds: sleeping or FULL SPEED AHEAD! 🤣 Latte is an extremely happy girl who loves everything and everybody! Toys? ❤️ Food? ❤️ Water? ❤️ Her puppy friends? ❤️ Foster family? ❤️ Foster dogs and cats? ❤️ Everyone is her friend! Latte’s initial vetting did identify some opacities in both eyes. Because brachycephalic breeds have prominent eyes, they can be more susceptible to eye injuries and other eye concerns. Latte has been thoroughly evaluated and is currently receiving treatment. She will be re-evaluated next week, and we will follow the recommendations of our veterinary partners. What we see every day is a happy, playful puppy who doesn’t seem to let her eyes slow her down one bit! She plays with her toys, enjoys her meals, and navigates her world with plenty of Pug enthusiasm. She is also a very good girl about receiving her eye ointment. 💕 At her upcoming visit, she will receive the next vaccines in her puppy series. On intake, Latte tested positive for Giardia and has completed treatment. She has also started monthly Sentinel heartworm prevention, which should continue year-round. No other concerns were identified during her intake vetting. Latte has a wonderful appetite and is currently eating Nulo Puppy Kibble with freeze-dried raw toppers, along with probiotics and powdered pumpkin to help support her gut as it continues to recover from Giardia and medication. And yes—she LOVES her water bowl! With all those crazy Pug zoomies, she definitely works up a thirst! 😂💦 We recommend continuing her on a high-quality diet through puppyhood and beyond to help support a healthy, happy future. During the day, Latte spends time in a large puppy-penned room filled with all kinds of toys and puppy friends. Weather permitting, they enjoy safe outdoor play and socialization with the foster dogs. Because Latte is brachycephalic, she will not tolerate heat as well as some other puppies, so outdoor activity should be limited on warmer days. When she isn’t running at full speed, Latte can usually be found napping in an open kennel—or wherever she happens to decide looks comfortable! 😴 Latte is still learning her puppy social graces and currently believes everyone should want to play at her enthusiastic level! 😂 Because of this, a home with a senior or very laid-back dog may not be the best fit. She would do best with a family who understands puppy energy and can help her learn when it is time to play and when it is time to settle. We also recommend that her family have a puppy pen or safe space where Latte can relax, nap, or enjoy some independent play when her humans need to cook, eat, do chores, or simply have a little puppy-free time. We are going ahead and opening applications for this sweetheart, but we want applicants to understand that her eye concerns are still being evaluated. We do not yet know what her veterinarian will recommend following next week’s recheck, and there may be ongoing care or treatment needed in the future. Anyone considering Latte should be prepared for that possibility. We will share another update after her upcoming veterinary visit when we have more answers. ❤️ For now, there is one thing we know for sure… Latte is one happy little Pug who is absolutely overflowing with energy, kisses, and love—and she is just waiting for the right family to fall completely in love with her! ☕️🐾💗 We are a volunteer run rescue and all our dogs are in foster homes.
