She prefers to observe from the sidelines, watching carefully before deciding who’s worthy of her heart. But once you earn her trust? You’re her Edward — and she’ll never want to leave your side. Gentle pets and butt scratches are her personal version of “you’re impossibly fast and strong,” and when she feels safe, she loves curling up in a warm lap like it’s her own cozy spot in the Cullen house. She enjoys small walks — perfect Forks-style strolls, taking everything in slowly and peacefully. Treats are the way to her heart (especially dried bacon and chicken patties — consider them her irresistible human blood substitute). With patience, kindness, and respect for her boundaries, she truly transforms — proving that the best love stories aren’t rushed, they’re chosen. She’s looking for a calm, gentle adopter who believes in trust, loyalty, and forever kind of love. Penelope—affectionately known as Peepee—is a sweet but sassy little girl who has come a long way from her feral beginnings. She’s discovered the comforts of indoor life and has fully embraced them, especially when it comes to blankets. Penelope loves to curl up on the couch and will happily spend hours snuggled nearby. While she’s still learning to trust human touch, Penelope does best with patience and compassion. She prefers to lie close to her person rather than be petted, and she’ll let you know when she’s feeling overwhelmed. Her confidence continues to grow at her own pace, and with time, her comfort around people keeps improving. Penelope has a playful side too—she loves squeaky toys, though she’s a bit bashful about it. Don’t be surprised if you only hear her playing once you’ve left the room. She will make her opinions known, however. If her water bowl is empty, dinner is late, or another dog is misbehaving, her adorable grumbly barks will quickly get your attention. She’s making great progress learning to walk on a leash, but she’s just as happy sunbathing or quietly observing the world from a distance. Penelope will need continued support to become comfortable with grooming and vet visits. She has a lovely, gentle temperament and gets along well with dogs of all sizes and sexes—she currently lives with a pack of five Cane Corsos. Though shy around strangers, she does not bark or bite to communicate. And with her signature Dobby ears and panda eyes, Penelope has a way of stealing hearts without even trying. Penelope is looking for a calm, understanding home that will allow her to continue blossoming at her own pace. 💛
