Story
Lola is living in a foster home in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Lola is a 9-year-old sweetheart who’s ready to settle into a calm, loving home where she can soak up all the attention she deserves. She currently lives with two other dogs and does wonderfully with them indoors. Lola is fully housetrained and welcomes new people with a happy, wagging tail—she especially enjoyed all the extra visitors and affection during the holidays! Lola was surrendered due to a change in her family’s work schedule, not through any fault of her own. She’s a laid-back girl who would thrive in a relaxed home, who either has a fenced yard or a family committed to regular walks to help her health. Lola is working on a gradual weight-loss journey, so she’ll need someone who can help her stay active and stick to healthy, portioned meals. Since she’s very food-motivated, structure and exercise will be key to her success. One of Lola’s favorite party tricks is catching treats (but please limit them) tossed gently into the air—she’s always so proud to show it off! With her sweet personality, Lola is ready to be someone’s loyal, loving best friend. Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Now that he’s safe and getting comfortable, Sam is ready for the next exciting step — finding his forever home. This sweet 6-month-old Beagle mix came from a local surrender case in Georgia, where the shelter believes his previous owner was breeding and selling puppies. Sam and his brother Dean were the last of their litter still waiting for homes, and Sam has already shown incredible resilience and heart. Despite his rough start, Sam is a happy, playful, and affectionate puppy. He is dog friendly, cat friendly, and kid friendly, making him a wonderful fit for many types of households. Like most puppies his age, Sam is currently working on potty training, crate training, and leash manners, and he’s making steady progress with the guidance of his foster family. Sam currently weighs about 25 lbs and is expected to be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and has received dewormer. Adopt a Pet from Mutt Life! Looking to add a furry friend to your family? At Mutt Life Rescue of Wisconsin, we have loving pets waiting for their forever homes. Explore our adoptable animals and find your perfect match today! For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org __________ Meet Birdie Birdie is a 5-month-old registered Beagle who recently came to Mutt Life Dog Rescue as a local owner surrender. While she was originally intended to be a small game hunting dog, her heart had other plans. Birdie preferred staying close to her person and playing rather than working in the field, which makes her perfectly suited for life as a beloved companion. Weighing about 25 pounds, Birdie just arrived at a Mutt Life foster home on 1/9 and is beginning her transition from outdoor kennel life to living indoors. Because of this, she will be working on potty training and learning the routines of home life, but she is already adjusting well and eager to learn. Birdie can be slightly timid when first meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and shows her sweet, loving personality. She is very friendly with other dogs and enjoys their company. She does have a slight prey drive with cats, likely due to her hunting background. We think with continued guidance and training, this may be something she can work through. Birdie does well with people of all ages, including kids, and would make a wonderful family dog. She would also be a great fit for anyone looking for a smaller, affectionate companion who enjoys being close to her humans.
