WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌼 Meet Rue – Retired Mama, Professional Sweetheart 🌼 Say hello to Rue — a 6-year-old, 60-pound Wheaten/Airedale mix (best guess), she looks like one of those wonderful “Heinz 57” dogs where multiple breeds came together and made something extra special! She has the softest eyes, the gentlest soul, and a heart that somehow stayed golden even after life gave her more than a few lemons. Rue has spent much of her life raising puppies (many, many puppies!), and she has officially hung up her mom hat for good. The nursery is CLOSED, the baby bottles are retired, and Rue is now fully focused on the very important job of being spoiled rotten. And honestly? She’s ready for it. Despite her rough beginnings, Rue is incredibly sweet, loving, and grateful for every kind word and gentle pat. She’s the kind of dog who looks at you like you personally hung the moon — especially if you also happen to be holding a treat. Rue gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves people of all sizes. Cats, however, are a hard no. In Rue’s world, C-A-T-S are suspicious little creatures that should be admired only from afar… like on TV… with the sound muted. She’s already got her house manners down like a champ: ✔ House trained ✔ Kennel trained ✔ Dog-door expert ✔ Professional couch potato ✔ Certified soft-bed enthusiast Rue would thrive in a calm, laid-back home where she can finally relax and enjoy the simple joys she may have missed out on — things like naps, belly rubs, slow strolls, and being someone’s very best girl. Her perfect day looks something like this: - Wake up - Receive compliments - Eat breakfast - Follow you around lovingly - Nap - Receive more compliments - Repeat Rue isn’t looking for a wild, busy lifestyle. She’s looking for HER person — someone who appreciates a mellow companion with a big heart and a low-drama personality. A soft place to land and a peaceful happily-ever-after. Rue’s Resume: 🐶 Great with dogs 👧 Good with kids 👫 Loves all adults 🚫 No cats (she’s allergic to their attitude) 💉 Up to date on vaccines & spayed 🏠 Fully house trained If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing best friend who will adore you like you rescued HER (even though she’ll rescue your heart right back), Rue is ready and waiting. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give this retired mama the forever home she’s always deserved 💛🐾

Story
Meet Shiloh 💛 Shiloh is a beautiful 6.5-year-old female, soft-coated Wheaten Terrier weighing 30 pounds. A puppy mill survivor, she’s ready to leave her past behind and discover how good life can be. Shiloh is sweet, shy, and gentle. She’s still settling into her foster home and is just beginning to come out of her shell, so she’ll need a patient, kind adopter who can continue helping her build confidence and learn that humans are safe. New environments and loud noises can be scary for her, and she may shake or keep her head low when meeting new people—but with time and reassurance, she’s becoming more comfortable. Shiloh has discovered the joy of cozy dog beds and exploring new treats! She has recently begun to curiously explore her environment and even seek affection from her foster parents by coming up to them and licking their hands. She is lower energy and is content to relax throughout the day with visits to explore the backyard. She is crated when her humans are away from home and at night and does well with this. The crate is her safe space. Shiloh loves other dogs and her tail wags the hardest when she’s around one. She is fostered with another dog and they became fast friends. She is fostered with a feline friend and has done well with interactions but does seem to be a little scared of the cat. She is not potty trained yet but is successfully using pee pads in the house. She is learning to walk on a leash and is still unsure, but her foster parents are hopeful she will one day enjoy walks around the neighborhood. Her coat was previously neglected and she had to be completely shaved down upon entering rescue. Her future family will need to commit to regular grooming and daily brushing to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion and have the patience to help a deserving girl blossom, Shiloh might be the perfect match. She is fostered in Cincinnati, OH, and her adoption fee is $450. Story
Meet Emerald — affectionately known as Emmy! Emerald is an almost 2-year-old, 8 lb miniature poodle with the sweetest spirit. Rescued from a puppy mill, she’s leaving her past behind and blossoming beautifully in her foster home. Free from the noise and stress of mill life, Emerald is learning what it truly means to just be a dog—and she’s loving it. This curious little girl is slowly blossoming, showing glimpses of a happy, gentle pup who’s eager to explore her world at her own pace. Emerald is still quite skittish and learning to adjust to the everyday noises and activity of life outside the puppy mill, but each day she grows a little braver. She’s just beginning to discover the comfort of human affection and truly shines with structure, consistency, and kind guidance. Emerald will thrive in a patient, loving home that’s ready to celebrate her small victories and help her continue building confidence. Emerald will need a confident, friendly dog in her forever home to help show her the ropes and continue building her confidence. Having a steady canine companion gives her reassurance and helps her feel safe. She will also require a physically fenced yard, as she is still easily startled and not yet comfortable walking on a leash in unfamiliar environments. A secure yard will allow her the freedom to explore and play safely while she continues to grow more confident. Emerald is comfortable around both men and women (she is slower to warm up to men). She hasn’t yet had the opportunity to interact with children or cats. Crate training and potty training are works in progress, but she is doing great. Emerald is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00 To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination.
