Story
We adopted Casper from a friend who was trying to rehome him. He is a fluffy 4 year old male ragdoll maine coon mix. He's very social and likes to meow but does not feel comfortable being lifted or held. He's extremely food motivated and knows a few tricks too and he loves puzzle toys. He gets stressed easily and he hasn't been doing well with our other cat, their personalities are too different. He recently developed urinary crystals due to stress and we are no longer able to cover the costs of his vet bills. He is on fluoxetine for stress and on a urinary tract diet and he takes his medicine with no problem every night. He would do really well as an only pet or possibly with another cat that is very calm. Indoors only.

Story
Mikko is a gentle, low-energy girl who thrives in a low-traffic home. She would do best in a calm environment with an experienced cat owner who is home most of the day and can give her the steady routine and attention she loves. Mikko has grown up around calm dogs—both small and large—and does well with them as long as they respect her space. However, she has had mixed experiences with other cats and has not been around children, so she would do best as the only cat in a home without energetic kiddos. She has made great progress with greeting visitors through positive reinforcement and will now happily say hello—especially if there’s a treat involved! Like many cats, she may continue to improve with patience and consistency. Mikko is an indoor-only cat but would absolutely enjoy a safe outdoor setup like a catio. Otherwise, she’s perfectly content basking in sunny windows and relaxing nearby. While she enjoys the occasional wand toy or catnip session, she’s truly happiest as a cozy cuddle buddy. Mikko does have a chronic condition called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC), which can cause UTI-like symptoms during flare-ups without the presence of bacteria. She also experiences some stress and anxiety. Her condition is well-managed with simple daily medication and an as-needed anti-inflammatory during flare-ups—all easily handled at home without frequent vet visits. Potential adopters are encouraged to research FIC to fully understand her needs. She may be shy at first and will need time, patience, and understanding to build trust—but once she bonds with you, Mikko is incredibly affectionate. She’s a professional lap cat with big purrs, and loves to show her affection through head bumps and kisses. Chin and cheek scratches are her favorites, though she’ll never turn down a good back pat. At night, if invited, Mikko will happily curl up beside you. Just be warned—you might wake up to her lovingly grooming your hair in true cat fashion!  Mikko live in Independence with her owner and her rehoming fee is $100.  Mikko is indoor only.   For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Story
Reeses is a sweet cat who just wants to be loved. She is shy at first but eventually will come out of her shell and follow her favorite person around. Unfortunately, she has been bullied by our other female cat, which has caused her a lot of stress. She gets along well with our Labrador and will lounge with him time to time. She is litter box trained and prefers to stay indoors, though she will venture outside from time to time. She is approximately 5 years old and petite. We are hoping to find her a forever home with a loving family who will give her the attention and care she deserves.

Story
Cleo was originally a stray we took in. She was very shy at first, but once she got to know she became so sweet. She does not get along great with other cats so she would thrive best in a single-cat household. Unknown how well she would get along with dogs but I assume it would be the same as other cats. She loves to be inside and outdoors so best to not be anyway around super busy roads. She is very well behaved and loves attention. She is about 4 years old.

Story
Niko is a quiet, Zen kitty cat. He is 14 years old, so he likes his naps. He loves getting scratched on his head, cheeks, and chin. He is very shy, but will warm up to you after a little while. (It took our neighbors several visits, but he got to where he would circle around their feet and let them pet him.)He doesn't like going to the vet or getting into the carrier, but once he's on his way in the car, he falls asleep. He loves to chase your hand under the sheet, and swat at the cat dancer. He doesn't jump as high as he used to, but he still likes to jump for it.Since he's 14 years old, he's not high energy. He's used to a relatively quiet environment, so I think he would probably do best without other pets around, although he did live with another cat for 13 years. I'm hoping to find someone who will love and care for him In his senior years. I wish it could be me, but my situation is impossible. I know he will provide comfort to someone out there. He's a beautiful, sweet kitty. 🧡
