Story
King Louie truly lives up to his name—he has a big personality and loves being the center of attention in his home. He’s incredibly friendly, enjoys spending time with his people, and is happiest lounging nearby while you go about your day. He’s also very food-motivated (he’s not picky—cat food, treats, and yes, he’s curious about human food too!). Louie grew up around both cats and dogs and is comfortable in a home environment. However, as he’s matured, he’s made it clear that he prefers to be the only cat. He has become territorial with other cats in the home, and for everyone’s well-being, he needs a home where he can have his space and not share it with other cats. Louie is 8 years old, up to date on all vaccinations, and has been an indoor/outdoor cat. That said, he has a more relaxed personality and could transition well to an indoor-only home with the right environment. This decision comes with a lot of love—we want Louie to have a home where he can truly thrive!

Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, House-trained,
Story
Mikko is a gentle, low-energy girl who thrives in a low-traffic home. She would do best in a calm environment with an experienced cat owner who is home most of the day and can give her the steady routine and attention she loves. Mikko has grown up around calm dogs—both small and large—and does well with them as long as they respect her space. However, she has had mixed experiences with other cats and has not been around children, so she would do best as the only cat in a home without energetic kiddos. She has made great progress with greeting visitors through positive reinforcement and will now happily say hello—especially if there’s a treat involved! Like many cats, she may continue to improve with patience and consistency. Mikko is an indoor-only cat but would absolutely enjoy a safe outdoor setup like a catio. Otherwise, she’s perfectly content basking in sunny windows and relaxing nearby. While she enjoys the occasional wand toy or catnip session, she’s truly happiest as a cozy cuddle buddy. Mikko does have a chronic condition called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC), which can cause UTI-like symptoms during flare-ups without the presence of bacteria. She also experiences some stress and anxiety. Her condition is well-managed with simple daily medication and an as-needed anti-inflammatory during flare-ups—all easily handled at home without frequent vet visits. Potential adopters are encouraged to research FIC to fully understand her needs. She may be shy at first and will need time, patience, and understanding to build trust—but once she bonds with you, Mikko is incredibly affectionate. She’s a professional lap cat with big purrs, and loves to show her affection through head bumps and kisses. Chin and cheek scratches are her favorites, though she’ll never turn down a good back pat. At night, if invited, Mikko will happily curl up beside you. Just be warned—you might wake up to her lovingly grooming your hair in true cat fashion!  Mikko live in Independence with her owner and her rehoming fee is $100.  Mikko is indoor only.   For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Story
Madame came from the Humane Society in Portland, I adopted her 5 years ago. Her age was unknown but is estimated to be around 10 now. She needs a new home as my household is changing and will not be suitable for her. Madame is very sweet, people oriented cat that loves pets and pats. She is prone to anxiety and shyness, especially in new places or around loud noises, and will often hide when she is overwhelmed. She is very docile, never having scratch or bitten me out of distress. Madame does like to swipe or bite when playing however, and needs toys to focus that behavior on.Madame is house trained but has occasional issues with bladder control when she is excited or relaxed. Lining her hiding places with pee pads and taking her to her litter box before playing has been my solution to prevent messes. She also trouble grooming her back side, and requires daily wiping and occasional bathes to help her.I’ve made hiding spots for her out of cardboard boxes, I can provide them at adoption.
