Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a whoot. 😂 As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! 🐾 Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience. When they are together, if they see other fur babies they get really excited and like to bark. Which is probably, how they survived on their own for so long as a way to protect themselves being so small and older. Even though Skipper eventually warms up to new dogs, it takes a while, and he would probably be happiness as an only dog in his next home. Skipper is very much loved in his foster home. Thus, only the most perfect of home him will he grace. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. What’s all the buzz about? It’s our boy, Buzz, the 1-year-old Border Collie/Rat Terrier mix who weighs just 21 pounds! He’s a fella with extremely high energy. He loves to run and jump and play with toys. He loves people and any attention they’ll give him. He’s dog friendly, too! Buzz is what the buzz is all about! How cute can you get? Well, not everyone is as adorable as this little boy is! Vance is a 4-month-old mix of Feist and Rat Terrier. Haven’t heard of a Feist? They were bred for hunting and have become wonderful companion dogs! He presently weighs about 10 pounds and will mature to under 20 pounds. A little fella, huh? He’s big on personality, though. He’s great with other dogs, kids and his foster’s cat. Truly a fine little boy! Story
Hi, I’m Tony! I am a really sweet pit mix with a LOT of energy, and I need a family who will take me on lots of walks and give me tons of cuddles. I get the zoomies sometimes when my energy has built up, but I’m also content lounging around on the couch sometimes. I don’t mind being in my crate for a few hours as long as you give me plenty of attention when you get home. I definitely like to explore, so I hope you have a fenced in backyard so I can’t run off when you let me play outside. My family loves me enough to know that I deserve someone who will be more active with me. They hope to find me another good home where I can play a lot, but it has to be someone special before they would dare to let me go. Did I mention that I’m really sweet?
