Story
Meet siblings Sansa and Sydney, 5-month-old Rat Terrier and Dachshund mixes. Sansa is a female while Sydney is a male. They weigh 18-20 pounds now but are expected to mature to around 25 pounds. They both wear short black, tan, and white coats which are easy to maintain. Shy at first, they warm quickly, and their loyalty knows no bounds. They also both do well with other dogs.  Adopt Sansa or Sydney, (or both!) and let them fill your life with joy and companionship! (ME, 3/18/2024)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  May 14, 2024, 2:59 pm

Story
Fez is a two year old Jack Rat that weighs 11 pounds.  He is a sassy and opinionated little guy, but friendly, once you get to know him.  Fez tests everybody to see if they will let him be the Alpha dog.  The answer is NO, he cannot be the Alpha.  Fez plays well with other dogs and walks on leash.  He is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and is maintained on monthly heartworm and flea preventives.  Fez's adoption fee is a $500 donation to the rescue. May 15, 2024, 12:20 am

Story
Rubble is a rambunctious medium sized terrier mix. His mom was a Jack Russell Terrier mix, but unsure of dad as he's on the larger size of medium. He has very much a terrier personality and is so smart. He does have a prey drive so he would do best in a home with no smaller animals. He is not super impressed by other dogs and would do best in a home as the only pet, unless you want to adopt two for one and get his brother Ryder too. They have your typical sibling disagreements, but would make a great pair. Rubble is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. If you're interested in fostering or adopting, please review our Adoption Process using the following link, https://www.hooforpaw.org/available-animals/adoption-process If the pet you are interested in will be around children, we always suggest the below article for teaching your child appropriate interaction methods for their new lifelong friend prior to bringing your new family member home. We recommend this because in most cases of dog bites the bite could have been avoided if the supervising adult recognized the dog's body language and distress signs. https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/training/teaching-young-children-respect-dogs/

Story
Ryder is a medium sized terrier mix, his mom was a Jack Russell Terrier mix, but unsure of dad as he's on the larger size of medium. He has very much a terrier personality and is so smart and eager to please. He has not been tested around other animals. He is not super impressed by other dogs and would do best in a home as the only pet, unless you want to adopt two for one and get his brother Rubble too. They have your typical sibling disagreements, but would make a great pair. Ryder is the more laid back of the two. Ryder is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations.
