Fred was rescued from a home with numerous dogs. He has hind leg paralysis but is very mobile. He has control or urine and stool. He is not fully potty trained but trainable. He is 18 months old and weighs 8 lbs. he walks well on a scooter and can get around well without one in the home. He can come downstairs - cant go up. He is great w/ kids and small dogs. Not fond or larger dogs. Eats well. Sleeps well in a little bed. He just loves being loved and is very low maintenance overall. Does not need a lot of exercise and is happy as long as someone is around.

Story
Tucker is a gorgeous, friendly, energetic, affectionate, thirteen (13) week old Rat Terrier puppy. He is not neutered. Really, loves playing with his toys and playing fetch. Enjoys curling up and cuddling next to you or on your lap. He would be happiest in a large backyard with room to roam and play. and is learning to walk on a leash. Recently, acquired Tucker from someone who could not care for him any longer due to health issues. Unfortunately, I’m not ready to provide a forever home to another pet, having lost my 12-year old Rat Terrier to illness this month. As a result, I’m not able to provide him my all, and it is not fair to him. Tucker, needs his final puppy shots at sixteen (16) weeks. Puppy comes with crate, blankets, leash, toys, pee-pads, puppy food, etc. Questions, movies4watching@gmail.com

Story
Trinity, the adorable 8 pound rat terrier is a survivor! She has survived being hit by a car and sustaining many fractures and a badly broken leg/ hip before ending up at the shelter and has needed some time and vet care to heal before we could spay her. She will need a special home as she is a little bit wobbly but she gets around incredibly well and our vet is very happy with how she's doing and finally cleared her for her spay which went well! Trinity is now officially ready to find a family of her own. Trinity likes other dogs and while she tries a little bit too much to play with the cats and mouth them even at times, she has been adjusting to them. We recommend she go to a home with older, gentle children 12 and up being that she has had such injuries we don't want to risk her getting hurt or snapping if they're too rough with her. Sometimes she will guard her little stuffed animal toys. They are her favorite thing in the world. She is actually quite obsessed with carrying them around everywhere.. it's adorable. Her injuries included a broken leg on one side and a torn ligament on the other as well as pelvic fractures and road rash on her head. She needed quite a while and a lot of crate rest and meds while she was healing but she is thriving, super playful, snuggly and happy as can be. We do notice that her depth perception seems to be a little bit off, but other than that and being a little bit wobbly, she doesn't seem to have any other issues. we aren't sure how old she is. The Shelter estimated she was 2yrs old, but our vet thinks more like 4 to 6 years old is likely. This little girl is hilarious. She has a big personality that will crack you up all the time and she will make a great companion. She is crate trained and doing well on potty training although she does need to go out often or she will have an accident. Trinity is being fostered in the East Bay area. We would really appreciate if everybody would share her and help us find her a wonderful home. If you think you may be the right fit for her, please do send us an application and tell us all about you we would love to find her a forever family of her very own! Our application is on our website www.K9ppr.orgApril 24, 2024, 2:04 pm

Story
To apply or see more of Jewel, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/5/14/jewel-bylpa I'm Jewel, a girl with an unknown past who landed at a local shelter as a stray. Call me mysterious ;) I’m having a hard time remembering what was before this, but I'm all about embracing the present and looking forward to a better life! I'm an energetic terrier mix, a sprightly 1 ½ years old, and I tip the scales at a petite 15 lbs! Impressive, I know! Currently, I'm holding down the fort (aka my foster home) alongside a 28lb female dog sibling. I can get along with a friendly small dog in my new family, but you know what? I could also thrive as the shining star, the only pet stealing all the love and attention. Now, about cats – no thanks, that's a hard NO from me. That would be a disaster! When I first left the shelter, I quickly bonded with my foster mom, but here's the surprise … I soon found that my foster dad gives the best belly rubs! I realized he wasn’t so scary after all! I'm a bit of an alert barker when someone new enters the house, but give me some time, a few meet-and-greets, and I'll warm up to them. I'm at my happiest when I'm with my people, and oh boy, am I a snuggly lap dog once I’m comfy. That’s why I’m seeking cool parents who will allow me on the couch! To keep myself entertained, I love playing with toys and chews, and I'm pretty treat-motivated. Food puzzles, snuffle mats – bring 'em on! They help engage my senses during the day since I’m fancy like that! What can I say, I like to keep busy! I’m honing my leash walking skills, am housetrained, and can use a dog door! Yep, that's me, a little smarty! Given my small size, I'd do best with a family with older children. Due to my shyness, I might not make the best impression during a meet & greet, but I really hope that won't deter people from giving me a chance! I'm in search of special adopters who will be understanding and patient, allowing me the time and space to gradually come out of my shell at my own pace. I’m a total love bug when you’ve earned my trust, I promise! Jewel’s Adoption Donation is SPONSORED! Includes - spayed rabies dhpp bordatella and chipped. Jewel is being fostered in SACRAMENTO, CA. Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! To apply or see more of Potato, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/12/8/potato Woof, greetings from Potato, your 25 lbs bundle of spunk! Let me tell you all about the fantastic life I'm ready to share with you. First things first, I'm not your average spud – I'm all about action and excitement! Hiking? Yep! Swimming? Absolutely! Playing fetch with a ball or stick? Oh, you betcha! And when the day winds down, I'm all in for some quality cuddle time under the covers. I'm definitely a thrill seeker, but also a snuggle bug. Now, here's the scoop on my intelligence – I'm a smart cookie, easily trainable, and super treat motivated. I'm eager to please, and I'll let you know what I want and when I want it. That's just me being a good communicator, you know? The humans say I’m gonna need a little structure and stable, reward-based training to keep my talkative side in check. I'm a social pup – good with both dogs and people. Now, when it comes to young kids, I'm a tad unsure, but I could likely grow to love them. Just recommend keeping the kitties out of the picture – not my cup of tea. Car rides? Oh, I'm a pro! A good errand runner and always up for a road trip adventure. And here's the magic – no separation anxiety. Leave me alone, and I'll be just fine. Housetrained? You got it! I'm a well-mannered pup ready to get you out of bed and motivate you each and every day! I thrive when I'm out in nature. Daily adventures are my thing, and I would absolutely love a lifestyle that involves getting out into the great outdoors regularly. If you're up for a mix of excitement, companionship, and a whole lot of love, I'm your Potato! Potato is being fostered in FELTON, CA Estimated DOB: 11/1/2021 $150 Adoption Donation - Neutered, up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives Interested in adopting? 1.
