Story
Eleanor is looking for a patient and trusting family that can help her navigate the scary world she is currently living in. It takes Eleanor a moment to warm up to new people but once she trust you, she will love you with everything she has. She gets funny burst of energy where she loves being chased or she will chase her tail and run in circles. If she could be glued to your side she would be. She is a silly girl with a lot of love to give. Eleanor loves cheese and one sided fetch. She has moderate energy and benefits from daily walks. Eleanor is fearful of new people and will bark until she is comfortable. Eleanor has met other dogs and is fine with proper introduction and low energy dogs. She can resource guard her things so she needs to be fed separate from any new dogs around her. Due to her fearfulness she is not recommended to live with children. Eleanor has not met cats but might be fine. Eleanor is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and chipped. All Better World Rescue dogs come with complimentary group and private training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you're interested in meeting Eleanor please fill out an application and a BWR volunteer will reach out. betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application

Story
🐾 Meet Sally! 💕 Sally is a sweet, people-loving girl with a special love for children! She tends to connect more easily with kids than with other dogs, but she is still a friendly pup overall. Since Sally is still new to her journey, she’s learning the ropes when it comes to being house-trained. The good news? She’s eager to learn and has already been catching on quickly! With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, Sally has so much potential to blossom into a wonderful lifelong companion. Sally is looking for a loving home with someone who understands that learning takes time and is willing to give her the patience, guidance, and care she deserves. In return, you’ll get a sweet girl who is ready to learn, grow, and fill your life with love. ❤️

Story
11/07/26 17:05From the foster:Buster came to the shelter a little over a month ago after being found running loose on the streets of San José. He arrived underweight and suffering from severe flea-related dermatitis with a secondary infection, which has since been treated. Initially very skittish and fearful, he showed some curiosity but needed time and space to feel comfortable. As he has become familiar with the shelter routine, Buster has started showing his playful side. He gets excited about little stuffed toys and has begun chasing them in the yard, a sweet glimpse of his growing confidence. He enjoys treats, especially wet food, walks well on leash, and looks back at his handler for direction. Buster showed appropriate social behavior with another shelter dog, initiating play while also recognizing when to give the other dog space. Buster may benefit from sharing a home with a confident, compatible dog to help him feel more comfortable. Buster still needs a slow, gentle approach with new people. He may dart away if someone moves toward him too quickly, so allowing him to approach at his own pace is important for building trust. This sweet little guy would benefit from rescue placement with a patient foster experienced with small, fearful dogs. With a predictable routine and time to build a relationship, Buster will have the opportunity to feel secure and let more of his personality shine.09/23/26 13:48Young adult male intact terrier mix with severe diffuse superficial bacterial dermatitis (bacterial skin infection) likely secondary to underlying skin allergies. Received intake vaccines, deworming and nexgard flea treatment and is currently recieving allergy medication and oral antibiotic. In need of urgent rescue; will need oral medication (and topical baths/shampoos) for 1-2 months to clear infection and likely to need allergy management long term.
