Meet Barbie Doll, a charming canine companion with a heart as sweet as her name suggests. Her friendly and gentle demeanor is paired with a playful spirit, making her a joy to be around. Barbie Doll has a goofy side that's sure to bring laughter into your home. She's also quite smart, picking up new tricks with ease, and is house trained. She's independent, yet loves to cuddle, making her a perfect balance of fun and relaxation. Barbie Doll can be a bit shy, but her soft, loving nature shines through once she warms up to you. She is great with everyone she meets; kids, other dogs her size, and cats.We think she would do best in a low key household with no requirements for extensive excursions, and patience to build her confidence in going places and seeing new things. We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes, not only because you get to learn commands together and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, but because it helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and her human family. And it’s lots of fun! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take her. With her unique blend of characteristics, Barbie Doll is a truly special dog. She's ready to share her love and playful antics with a forever family who can appreciate her delightful quirks and gentle soul. Adopt Barbie Doll and let her bring a touch of sweetness and joy into your life. Medical Note: This dog has been treated for heartworm disease.  Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future.  Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete.  This dog’s treatment has been completed and the dog has tested negative for microfilaria as well as heartworm disease.  This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment; future complications are not expected, but are not impossible.  Please ask your Adoption Counselor for the specific treatment protocol used for this dog.  Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: 5 Years, 7 Months (as of 2/26/25) Weight: 8.2 Pounds (as of 1/26/25) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped . Meet Little Pea—more like “Sweet Pea!”  This lovable girl is proof that good things come in small packages. Little Pea is affectionate, playful, trusting, quiet and eager to please. People are her cup of tea! This little girl is a sweetheart with both men and women, and will likely thrive in any home that is ready to give her equal doses of love, lap & nap time, fetch time and squeaky toys!  She has very tiny bones, so needs gentle and careful handling at all times, but don't let her bones fool you - she can be very spunky, fast and playful!!!  She would likely love tricks and agility games, and she can play fetch all day, but she is also happy to relax on your lap or in a spot of sunshine.   She would also likely love to go quiet places with you as your copilot! When it comes to interacting with other dogs, Little Pea is a happy, wiggly playmate! She is respectful and interested but not overbearing, and plays nicely and especially loves squeaky toys. She has shared space with a cat, and their interactions were always affectionate and playful.  She is currently living with two other small dogs, and fits in perfectly.   Adult rescue dogs like Little Pea are a great choice for those seeking a calm, gentle companion—one that’s over the puppy stage, and knows who they are (and are AWESOME!!!)!  Little Pea enjoys walks and is a perfect lady on the leash.  She is also crate trained, easy on car rides and house trained. You could say she’s “been around the block a few times!” and "ready to go!" into almost any home! We strongly encourage basic obedience training for all our dogs, even well balanced adults like Little Pea, as it not only helps your dog build key life skills such as good manners, but it also helps to form a lasting bond between your dog and the humans in your family.  Little Pea would have a thrill doing this with you, and would likely be the star of the class with her cuteness and antics! Are you ready to meet Little Pea and give her the forever home she deserves? Fill out an application today and let her know that you'd love to have her join your family! Medical Note:   The dog is housetrained, but has unusual bowel movements and posturing when outside.  The dog has had diagnostic tests performed and been examined by a board certified surgeon, and no obvious diagnosis or path of resolution is able to be identified.  While in our care, the dog seems very comfortable and well managed on a simple prescription diet, pumpkin once daily and miralax twice daily; this will likely need to be continued indefinitely, and the occasional enema may be required.  Another specialist may suggest other changes to try, but in her current state, the dog has a very good quality of life and this condition does not require much beyond awareness and a little extra attention.  Prescreened adopters will have the opportunity to speak with the SOS Medical Director, as well as the surgeon, should they have any questions or concerns. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see     HERE     for more information about this. Story
Rocket is the fastest thing on 2 wheels! This adorable maniac was adopted from us two years ago and he was very much loved by his owner. Unfortunately, his owner became sick and could no longer care for Rocket. We promised him that we would find Rocket another amazing owner that would love him. Rocket was paralyzed in the backend and had significant road rash so he was most likely hit by a car years ago. Unfortunately he no longer has any feeling in his back legs so surgery was not an option for him. Rocket is still very much a puppy. He loves to play, run around, and eat. He can use a drag bag or his wheelchair. We have a wheelchair that fits him but we will also pay for a new one at Eddie’s Wheels once he’s settled with his new family. Rocket is good with dogs but can be dominant when toys/food are involved. He’s made some friends here at the rescue and does enjoy playing! He also should probably be kept away from tiny dogs when he’s in his wheels to prevent any accidents. Rocket needs someone who will be committed to keeping his legs clean and free from scrapes. Rocket is estimated to be 5-6 years old and he weighs 19lbs. He should be closer to 11-12lbs so he’s currently on a diet. We think he’s a Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix. He has no feeling in his back legs and isn’t in any pain. When Rocket first came to us he needed his bladder expressed at least 3 times a day, but he seems to be able to express himself now. Whenever we try to express him he is empty. Rocket may be prone to UTIs if his bladder is not emptied completely so regular urine checks should be done at the vet to ensure he does not have a UTI. Rocket is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and recently had full bloodwork. To apply to adopt Rocket, please fill out an application at vintagepetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Meet Suki! She’s about 4 years old, weighs 14 pounds and looks like a Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix. She was found stray, and she’s still skittish at the rescue. She’s coming out of her shell and getting more social with people she knows, and we’ll update as we get to know her more!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.March 12, 2025, 6:56 am

Story
Ginger is definitely the most sweetest little girl you’ll meet! She weighs approximately 18 lbs and is about 1 year old. She has not had an easy life. She was found roaming the streets, sleeping wherever she could, and getting chased by male dogs. Unfortunately, she didn’t even make it past her first or 2nd heat before she was pregnant. She had 3 beautiful puppies. She spent the first few weeks of their young life providing them shelter and finding food so she could feed them. It wasn’t until they were about 6 weeks when a good Samaritan found her and got her and her puppies safe. We believe the puppies were born around mid October, and they are available for adoption also! 2 females and 1 male – Minnie, Millie and Milo. Ginger is such a doll. She loves to please her people and be around people. A complete lap dog and cuddle bug. Once you start petting her, she will roll on her back to get lots of belly rubs. She doesn’t care where you pet her, as long as you do. She’s SOOO happy. Ginger loves other dogs and gets along with every dog she has met. She was a GREAT mom to her little ones too. She doesn’t mind cats at all (please see video). She completely ignores the cats inside the foster’s home and gives them no mind. She would rather be looking at her humans than anything else. Ginger is leash trained and does great on the leash. Because she has limited house experience, she is learning potty training currently, so she does need a home that understands she is not fully house trained. We do believe it won’t take long to house train her with someone who is consistent and patient. Ginger does great with all ages, children and all people. There is no person she has met she doesn’t just melt into. If you’re looking for a super friendly, very sweet, people pleasing, loyal companion, smart, gentle, lapdog doggy – please consider Ginger today. All of dogs are fixed, heart worm negative, current on vaccinations, current on dewormer, current on preventions, microchipped and given a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption. If you are interested in adopting, PLEASE fill out an application at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org
