Story
Sweet Dixie was a adopted a couple of years ago to a very sweet lady in New Jersey. Sadly she unexpectedly passed away a couple of months ago and as she had no family, Dixie came back to us. She has adjusted very nicely but she needs to have a family of her own. Dixie was a street dog back in the day. She came to us with a litter of pups who were born under a trailer. She was a great mama and she was very thankful to have a stable home. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, crate trained and ready for immediate transport. Wouldn't you love to give her a forever home! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $350

I'm just a little guy, full of energy and always ready to play. I'm quite the comedian too, always trying to make you laugh with my silly antics. I'm a quick learner, eager to discover new things and meet new friends. I'm as sweet as they come, always ready for a cuddle after a fun day of play. I love exploring new places and meeting new people - it's my favorite thing! Life with me will never be dull, I promise. I'm looking for a family who will love my playful spirit, cherish my sweet nature, and laugh at my funny ways. Will you be my forever family?   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. April 30, 2024, 8:09 pm

Story
Panda is just a darling. She is adorable. A 2 year old, 30 lb girl..... so she is full grown. A perfect size. She loves car rides and leash wallks. Panda was in a prior home with Emmie (also posted for adoption). Panda loves all the dogs in her foster home and will be fine adopted to a new home without Emmie. They will both be ok separated.... even though they do love each other very much. Previous owner surrendered them because he was being evicted and could not take the dogs to his new place. Law enforcement was called on the guy because he was leaving the dogs without shelter or food for days at a time. As this is terribly sad, these two seem non-affected..... they are adjusting very well in foster care. Enjoying their food and treats. We are moving them forward..... never to look back. Panda will make some lucky Family so very happy. Panda is currently in West Tennessee (Gleason). Contact Lisa at 731-499-0739 or oatsvall973@yahoo.com. Adoption fee is $200. Transport in addition is $175 if needed.

Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ 🐾 Skipper is (estimated at 8 years young) a auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a whoot. 😂 As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience. When they are together, if they see other fur babies they get really excited and like to bark. Which is probably, how they survived on their own for so long as a way to protect themselves being so small and older. Even though Skipper eventually warms up to new dogs, it takes a while, and he would probably be happiness as an only dog in his next home. Skipper is very much loved in his foster home. Thus, only the most perfect of home him will he grace. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!
