NAME:  Manchas BREED:  Terrier mix SEX:  male COLOR:  black/white AGE:  est at 3 years as of July 2026 WEIGHT:  17.9 lbs  FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN: NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Meet Manchas!  Manchas is a 3-year-old, 23-pound Terrier mix with a playful spirit, a loyal heart, and a second chance at life that he's making the most of every day. Before coming to Canine Castaways, Manchas was attacked by a larger dog while out on a neighborhood walk. His injuries required extensive medical care that his owner simply couldn't afford. Thanks to the care he received, Manchas made a full recovery. In fact, if you met him today, you'd never know what he had been through. What you would notice is a dog who loves life. Manchas is looking for a home that is both loving and active. He loves being chased around the yard, going for walks or runs, playing with toys, and spending time with his people. His favorite toys are the crinkly, squeaky kind, and his current prized possession is a duck that his foster family has lovingly repaired more than once after enthusiastic play sessions. One of the best things about Manchas is his adaptability. As his foster mom says, I have as much energy as you allow me to have. Want to go on an adventure? Manchas is ready. Want to play in the backyard? He's all in. Want to relax on the couch afterward? He can do that too. While he had a difficult start, Manchas has worked hard to learn to trust again. Every day, he continues to grow in confidence and discover that the world can be a safe and happy place. Once he knows you're his person, his affectionate side shines through. Hes a snuggle bug who loves attention, but hes also content to entertain himself when needed. Manchas is both house-trained and crate-trained. He doesn't chew things he's not supposed to, enjoys a good bone, and gets along with other dogs once he has a chance to become comfortable. More than anything, Manchas is looking for a family that will give him what every dog deserves: love, patience, fun, and a place to belong. He's ready to love you with his whole heart. NAME:  Ana BREED:  terrier mix SEX:  female COLOR:  white/brown AGE:  7 yrs as of Jan 2026 WEIGHT:  11.8 lbs FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN: NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Meet Ana!  Ana is a 7-year-old, 11-pound Chihuahua mix with a heart that's every bit as big as her personality. This little lady has quite a story. After a traumatic accident caused one of her eyes to pop out of its socket, quick action helped save not only her eye but also her vision. Today, Ana is thriving and doesn't let her past slow her down one bit. Ana is the definition of a dog who knows her worth. She isn't interested in becoming best friends with everyone she meets. Trust is something that must be earned, and Ana prefers to decide when you're worthy of her affection. But once youve made it into her inner circle, youll discover a loyal companion who enjoys sharing lifes adventures with her favorite people. She absolutely loves treats, enjoys going for walks, and adapted easily to a new potty routine in her foster home. Ana also has a special fondness for cats and would be happy to share her home with a feline friend. When it comes to other dogs, Ana is selective. Very selective. Shes a bit of a bossy girl and only chooses to play with dogs that meet her approval. Because of this, she would likely be happiest as an only dog or in a home with a very easygoing canine companion who respects her boundaries. Ana isnt looking for just any home. Shes looking for the right home. One that understands that the best relationships arent rushed and that some of lifes greatest rewards come from earning the trust of a dog who chooses to love you. If youre patient, understanding, and appreciate a dog with a little sass and a lot of heart, Ana may be the perfect match.   NOTE:  Local applications are given first priority and some out of town areas will not be able to be processed.  If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this dog... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Heartworm Tested - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Urinalysis - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on Flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this dog including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption. Hi there! We’re the Water Babies! We may be small, but we’re overflowing with puppy energy, curiosity, and enough cuteness to make waves wherever we go. Like all puppies, we’re busy learning about the world one adventure at a time. We love playing, exploring, collecting toys, zooming around the house, and investigating every mysterious item we find on the floor (which means you’ll want to keep an eye on your socks!). We’re looking for families who will help us learn good manners with positive training, patience, and lots of love. In return, we promise plenty of puppy kisses, endless entertainment, and a lifetime of friendship. With a little guidance and a lot of snuggles, we’ll grow into the very best companions. Ready to dive into puppy life with us?
