Hi there! My name is Denzel, and I’m a little dog looking for a big love. See I have a heart on my back! Just a few months ago, I was a scared little 2 year old Jack Russell - Chi mix boy – hiding under a car in a shopping center parking lot. I was only 9 pounds of trembling fur, wondering where my world had gone and if anyone would ever find me. Luckily, the wonderful FCCR ladies scooped me up, and I landed in a pawmazing foster home. My tail started wagging again, my signature smile returned, and I discovered I am actually quite the little character! Turns out, being small doesn’t mean having a small personality – I’ve got energy for days and enough charm to win over anyone I meet. These days, I’m living my best life while I wait for my forever family. I’ve become quite the little gentleman. I walk beautifully on a leash, ready for adventures around the neighborhood or trips to the park. And oh, do I love car rides! There’s something magical about watching the world go by from the passenger seat. When I’m not out exploring, you’ll find me mastering the art of tug-of-war with my toy collection. I’m surprisingly strong for such a little guy – must be that Jack Russell determination! But my absolute favorite thing? Snuggling under the covers with my humans. There’s no better feeling than being wrapped up warm and safe, knowing I’m exactly where I belong. I’m proud to say I’m completely crate-trained. I’m also working hard on my housebreaking skills, and everyone says I’m learning incredibly fast. Smart and handsome? I know, I know – I’m quite the catch! The best part about me? I absolutely adore kids and get along wonderfully with other dogs. There’s something about little humans that just makes me light up, and having doggy siblings sounds like the perfect adventure. This little 22 pound 8 yr old jack mix was found as a stray and brought into the shelter.. His medical history over all is unremarkable except he is heartworm positive. He is very scared in the shelter and should do well after decompression in a home setting. We will treat his heartworm condition and pay for that, right now what Riley needs for Christmas is a nice quiet home. He is not reactive to dogs in the shelter, and has allowed handling, so he just needs time. He is currently being treated for pneumonia at the vets, and once he is out, we would like to see him in a nice peaceful home with one or no other dogs. Totally housebroken he barks to go out. has a great appetite. Gets along with all dogs without really interacting, he is just there they are just there. Riley would do best with a senior couple who can give him some short walks, has a small fenced yard, a nice sunny porch to lie on, some affection and a soft bed. He LOVES to eat so some good food is on that list too!! Great older boy. We will look into his hw status in a bit, but for now he is an easy boy to deal with!!!
